A blown lead by the Pacers ruined out perfect 2-0 NBA Picks of the day yesterday evening, however with the Martin Luther King Jr holiday in front of us, there are plenty of valuable odds.

Bulls vs. Pistons
The Bulls and Pistons are two teams tipping off earlier in the afternoon here on this holiday Monday, and the Bulls have been about as reliable as a 1990s car with 200,000 miles on it. Going into Detroit to play the Pistons might not change that, as these divisional opponents will be looking to beat up on one another to improve their playoff positioning.

Right now the NBA Odds have the Bulls as +3 road dogs in Detroit tonight, with a total of 202½, and while they have not been great recently, the total in this one seems like the safer and more valuable wager. While both of these teams have been good at cashing the over in their respective home/road splits for this game, along with being pretty reliable in cashing the over when playing teams from their own division, the early starts for some of these games could mean some pretty reliable under value.

A couple of weeks ago I highlighted the fact that the under was cashing at nearly a 2/1 ratio when it came to games that started in the early afternoon this season, or even 5:00 PM local time or earlier. Today should be no different with a 2:30 local start time. NBA players don’t like getting up early to play games, and it will likely lead to a sloppier game with less made baskets, more turnovers, and probably a lot less visual appeal to the fans actually watching the games.

If you take away the fact that these two teams went into quadruple overtime earlier in the season, the under probably would have cashed in three straight meetings between these two teams. While Chicago’s road defense has been horrific this season, the early start time should negate that. With the total already dropping a full 3½ points since it opened, take the under and add it to your NBA Picks.

Nets vs. Raptors
Speaking of unreliable, since Jarrett Jack went down the Nets look like one of, if not the worst team in the NBA. While the Celtics are sitting back and loving every second of it, the Raptors should be able to feast on the lowly Nets tonight north of the border. The NBA Odds have the Raptors as -11 favorites, which is by far the largest spread of this holiday schedule, but with the way the Nets have been getting blown out recently, it’s probably still a lock to come through for us tonight.

The Nets have gone 1-7 SU and ATS in their last eight games, and they are getting blown out by almost everyone. Looking at those seven losses, they had an average margin of defeat of 16 points, and while they hung in there for some of those earlier losses before Jack went down, their last four losses have come by a margin of more than 20 points.

Needless to say, all the Raptors have to do tonight is show up and they’ll probably win SU. While the Raptors are only 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, Brooklyn’s lack of scoring ability is going to kill them tonight in Canada. They are averaging only 95 points per game this season, and in their last two road games they have failed to reach 90 points. Toronto on the other hand has improved to the 2nd seed in the East thanks to some good recent play, and while averaging over 102 points per game in their last ten, I’ll gladly lay the points with them tonight against Brooklyn as the NBA pick.
