We were just a few points away from cashing two NBA Picks last night, however we still split a pair, and I’m now 17-7 throughout the playoffs. There is only one game on tap tonight in the NBA, so I am releasing NBA Picks on the spread and total for tonight’s Game 6.

Hawks vs. Nets total
The Nets could not hang on against the Hawks despite giving them a lot of trouble, but after playing pretty well in Game 5, they have a chance to try and force a Game 7 tonight. The NBA odds have the Hawks as -4 road favorites in this one, with a total of just over 200 points. While the first three games of this series have gone under the total, the last two games have gone over thanks to the overtime in Game 4. However Game 5 back at Atlanta went over the total as well, and I think it could be an establishing trend heading into Game 6.

The over is now 9-4 in the Nets last 13 first round playoff games, and the over is also 8-3 in the Hawks last 11 road games, and 5-1 in their last six road games as well. In what could be a faster paced game here at home for the Nets, just 200 points seems like a reasonable total for the over. During the regular season, the over cashed in three of the Hawks and Nets four meetings, and during the regular season the Hawks averaged 114 points against the Nets. While the scoring is down because of he playoffs, the Hawks are still averaging 100 points scored in this series, even with a game where they scored 83 points. They have scored 115, and 107 respectfully in their last two games of this series, so I think they have figured the Nets’ defense out. Take the over and add it to your NBA Picks.

My Pick: OVER 200 ½ at 5Dimes

Hawks vs. Nets spread
Even though I think the Hawks possess the ability to score enough here to win, I could easily see them failing to cover this one in Brooklyn. Atlanta failed to cover either game of this series that’s been played in Brooklyn so far, and during their last week of the season until now, the Hawks have been anything but a good bet. Atlanta is 0-3-1 ATS in their last four road games dating back to the regular season, and they are only 1-6 ATS now in their last seven first round playoff games, and 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.

The Nets on the other hand are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games as home underdogs, 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 home games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. To add to that, the Nets are 7-1 ATS in their last eight first round playoff games.

The Nets played pretty horrible in Game 5 and almost got the win. Brook Lopez and Deron Williams played pretty badly, and if only one of those guys has a better game tonight, the Nets at +4 could be a tremendous value. Add it to your NBA picks tonight.

My Pick: Nets +4 at The Greek
