We split a pair of Picks last night and Monday's NBA slate brings about even more intriguing games. I have 3 more plays in tonight’s NBA Odds, so follow along as I release my NBA Picks of the day.
Blazers vs. Wizards
Portland took care of the Raptors easily on Sunday evening in Toronto, and now they have another seemingly tough game against the Wizards tonight in Washington DC. The NBA odds have the Blazers as +2 ½ underdogs, despite how badly the Wizards have been playing recently. The total for this one is 197 as well, and I think I’ve found value in both lines tonight.
Washington is only 6-18 ATS overall in their last 24 games. They have looked nothing like the team that made it to the quarterfinals of the NBA playoffs last season. Instead they look more like a team that is going to be an easy out for whomever faces them in the playoffs. This could make the Blazers a great play here, even though they are coming off the back to back.
Portland is 8-5 ATS this season when playing on no rest, and they are also 6-1 ATS in their last seven games. On top of the betting the Blazers tonight, the over looks like a pretty good play too. The over is 5-1 in the Wizards last six games overall, and it’s 4-0 in their last four games as favorites. The Blazers should have no problem scoring points on Washington’s defense in this game, so take the points and the over.
My NBA Pick: Blazers +2 ½ & OVER 197 at 5Dimes
Hornets vs. Jazz
The Hornets and Jazz are set to hook up tonight in Utah, and the NBA Odds have the Jazz as -5 favorites, however there are no totals out yet from sportsbooks. One of the main reasons there is likely no total is the status of Al Jefferson. Big Al has been upgraded to questionable for this game from doubtful, however Jefferson has a tough task in this game going against the big man combo in Utah of Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors.
Utah has been one of the better defensive teams in the NBA since these two took over the starting duties, and while the total isn’t out yet, the under might be a good play. However Utah laying the points in this one seems like the way to go.
The Jazz are 9-4-2 ATS in their last 15 games, and with Jefferson questionable, and Kemba Walker not quite back to 100% even though he is playing, I am laying the points here. Dante Exum is a very good defender as well, so Walker or Mo Williams will have some trouble generating offense in this game.
Utah is 35-28-2 ATS this season, and while they have tapered off of covering a lot recently, they are still 14-9 ATS in their last 23 games. Look for this one to be a lower scoring contest with plenty of defense, but in the end the Hornets not being at full strength will not fair well for them in this one, so lay the points and add it to your NBA picks for Monday.
My NBA Pick: Jazz -5 at Pinnacle Sports
