It’s another big night of NBA action and it’s once again time for Swinging Johnson and I to battle for NBA Picks supremacy! I have two more plays tonight to add, and with the wealth of NBA Odds available tonight, it could be a very profitable evening.
Kings vs. Magic
The Kings continue their East Coast road swing tonight as they head into Orlando to play the Magic. The NBA betting odds have the Kings as -1 road favorites in this one, but with such a close (and seemingly volatile) spread, I am more focused on the total of 202. It’s much too low for these two teams, and even though the Magic’s defense is getting better, they won’t have much of an answer for DeMarcus Cousins tonight.
While the Magic have trended with the under recently, the over is 6-2 in their last eight games against teams with losing SU records. The Kings provide a nice chance to score some points tonight. Sacramento plays at a very fast pace, and they are getting faster under George Karl. Sacramento has cashed the over in six of their last eight games, and in eight of their last 11 road games.
On top of that, these two teams do not match up well against one another. Nikola Vucevic and Cousins are going to probably be more focused on scoring on one another instead of stopping the other, and with Tobias Harris finally looking healthy, this game will be more geared towards scoring than defense. The Magic are still giving up 101 points per game on the season, and the Kings are giving up over 104 per game.

Suns vs. Nets
Brooklyn had their mini hot streak ended against the Hornets on Wednesday night, and now they welcome in the Suns as their next opponent on this home stand. Phoenix is trying to find their identity as now one of the youngest teams in the NBA, so this should be a good battle between young and old. However in the NBA, I’ll take young most nights, especially when it’s a team like the Nets.
Brooklyn is only 2-7 ATS in their last nine games as a favorite, and they are only 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games at home. Phoenix on the other hand has played somewhat well, cashing in three of their last five games and in four of their last seven.
The combination of Brandon Knight and Eric Bledsoe might be too much for Deron Williams and Joe Johnson. If the Suns can get out and run on fast breaks, and keep this pace to their liking, they will cover this one.
On top of all of this, the Suns have been very good against the Eastern Conference this season. They are 16-9 ATS versus the East this season, and event though they’re young, that starts to play more of a factor in March when the older legs start to get tired. I am backing the Suns in this one against the spread. The line is already starting to drop down to +2 ½ at some sportsbooks, so make sure you jump on the +2.5 with your NBA picks.
