We ended up splitting a pair of our NBA Picks once again last night, and With a big slate of action here on Wednesday, it’s time once again to see if we can cash a couple of picks for a winning night of NBA action.

Warriors vs. Jazz
After beating the Lakers within an inch of their lives, the Jazz head back home tonight to welcome in the defending champions. The NBA odds have them as +5 home underdogs in this one, but for my NBA Pick tonight, I am more focused on the total of 202½. While it has dropped significantly since it opened, I think it’s going the wrong way. The Warriors have shown their ability to cash the over on the road this season, and while Utah brings the defense when playing at home, against faster paced teams, the tend to increase their own pace just a little.

For instance, in games where they play one of the top eight pace teams in the league this season, both home and away, the Jazz have cashed the over at 9-12-1. While that may not seem impressive, considering their over cash rate this season is only 41 percent, 9-12-1 is above average for them. On top of that, the Jazz are 4-5 when playing the faster paced teams at home, which once again, is not bad for this team.

The Warriors will surely still get to above the 100-point mark in this one, making the over a solid play. While Utah may not cash the over much at home, after their showing against the Lakers, they are averaging close to 109 points per game in their last four home games.

The Warriors on the other hand have cashed the over at 23-15 this season when playing on the road, and with how fast they are playing, they are scoring close to 115 points and giving up over 107 points per game on the road. The first and only time these two met in Utah earlier this season the total went over, and I see another game similar to that one here at the end of the season.

Heat vs. Lakers
If you haven’t read about the drama going on in Los Angeles right now surrounding 19 year-old rookie, D’Angelo Russell and teammate Nick Young, do yourself a favor and check it out. The Lakers are already a dumpster fire this season, but fittingly, because they are in LA, they are now a soap opera.

According to a report from ESPN, Russell secretly videotaped Young talking about other women he has been with. This prank turned into drama when the video surfaced online, and now the Lakers are shunning Russell, which was one of the reasons the Lakers were blown out so badly by the Jazz the other night.

Now the Lakers head back home to play a Heat team battling for playoff positioning. While there is some concern that Goran Dragic might not play in this one while he is still battling an illness, the Heat are good enough without him to win this game, especially with the Lakers so disjointed. Josh Richardson played very well in place of Dragic in Miami’s last game on Monday, and if he is forced into action again, he should be able to help the Heat wipe the floor with LA.

The Lakers are coming into tonight losers of four straight games ATS, and they are 1-8 ATS in their last nine overall games. The Heat on the other hand have been pretty hot, winning four of their last five games both SU and ATS. There is some question on whether or not Kobe Bryant will play in this game as well, so with all of the things going on in LA, there is no way they keep this game close. The player’s minds are already on vacation, and with the Heat trying to secure a home game to start the playoffs, they will be focused tonight.
