A couple of huge games line the NBA Odds today as we have a matinee thriller, and an evening prizefight. I am 26-14-1 in my NBA Picks for the playoffs & am confident in these plays.
Cavs vs. Bulls
Derrick Rose is probably one of the best tough shot makers in the league right now, and no matter how many he missed before his game winner two nights ago, it didn’t matter. The Bulls won the game on a bank shot from Rose at the last second, and went onto a 2-1 victory. However the game was not a total win. The Bulls are starting to feel the injury bug to a guy who hasn’t really been hurt all year. Pau Gasol is dealing with a hamstring injury, and may not be able to play here.
That makes the NBA odds in favor of the Cavs here on the road at -2, with another total around 194 ½. Tom Thibodeau has run Gasol into the ground this season, and while this kind of injury cannot be predicted, Gasol’s injury history suggested that he might be injured at some time this season. It sucks for the Bulls that it comes at the most crucial point of the season, but even if he can’t go, the combination of Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic might actually work out better for the Bulls.
The Bulls defense is noticeably better with Gibson on the court, and with Mirotic it makes the offense a lot better as well. Gasol was kind of a burden on defense, and if he wasn’t producing on offense, his play was detrimental.
That’s why I am going with the Bulls here at +2, even with the possibility of no Gasol. The Bulls won last game without him, and if he can’t play tonight, the Bulls will still have enough quality big men to throw at the Cavs. Take the points
NBA Pick: Bulls +2 at GTBets
Rockets vs. Clippers
The Clippers once again blew out the Rockets, this time in Game 3 on Friday. Now that LA enjoys 2-1 series lead, they could very well win this game, and basically put the Rockets to sleep. Tonight the NBA Odds have the Rockets as +7 underdogs against the Clippers, with a total of 217 ½. Chris Paul made his return on Friday and looked pretty good in a little less than 24 minutes of action, and that bodes well for the Clippers chances in this one.
We once again cashed our NBA pick on the over in last game as well, and even though the total is getting higher and higher, we still have some nice value for the over here. The Rockets should come back from yet another embarrassing loss and score more than 99 points, much like they did in Game 2 after losing Game 1. As long as Paul continued to play and give the Clippers something on offense, they are going to score enough points to cash the over here. Austin Rivers also have the game of his life in Game 3, and if he can even give the Clippers half of what he did in Game 3, the over is the play here.
NBA Pick: OVER 217 ½
