We split a pair of NBA Picks in our plays on Wednesday’s big slate, and now we approach a smaller slate of NBA Odds on Thursday.

Sixers vs. Nets
Normally you would look at this game and just pass completely in favor of some of the other games on the board, however, with only three other games tonight outside of this one, you have to consider everything. However, this game presents some of the best value on the board, despite the fact that it’s not one of the nationally televised games this week. The Nets come in as a -7 favorite in the NBA odds, with a total of 196½, and while most of the attention on this game has been given to the Nets in terms of bets placed, the total is where I am going for this one.

At 196½, the first glance makes the under look like the better play. Brooklyn and Philly are two of the worst teams in the NBA in Offensive Rating, and Philly’s offense is barely averaging more than 90 points per game this season. However, the Philadelphia offense has been playing better, but their defense has been playing worse. In their last three game, the Sixers have given up 109 points per game, and despite only scoring 68 points against the Spurs, the Sixers have much better prospects on offense tonight.

The Nets are giving up 103 points per game this season, and in their last three games they have given up 109 points per game as well. If this holds true tonight, this game might be higher scoring than some are projecting. In fact, the total of 196½ looks like a nice over play. Despite the total going up from 194½ to 196½, it might be just a god indicator that we are potentially on the winning side.

Knicks vs. Kings
The final game of the evening has the Kings playing host to the upstart Knicks tonight, and the NBA odds have the Kings as -5½ favorites, with a total of 207. While I am tempted to play the total again in this one, the spread of -6 seems like a better value. The Knicks started the year undervalued after their horrible season a year ago, but that was short lived to say the least. New York has fallen back to 12-11 ATS, and they have covered in only two of their last nine games overall, and they are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games this year.

So, the Kings at -5½ might be the play tonight. They’re roster is finally getting healthy outside of their rookie, Willie Caulie-Stein, and with DeMarcus Cousins to worry about tonight, even the great Latvian god, Kristaps Porzingis won’t be able to keep the Knicks in this one. Both he and Carmelo Anthony have been playing well this season, but the Kings’ run and gun system might give the Knicks issues tonight.

Sacramento has actually won five of their last seven home games SU, and while they are only 6-7 ATS at home this season, against the East the Kings are averaging nearly 108 points per game. While their defense leaves a lot to be desired, I don’t think it matters tonight against an inferior opponent in New York. Don’t get caught up in the Knicks once again being overvalued ATS. Take the Sacramento as the NBA pick.
