We continued our pre-All Star Break hot streak last night cashing all three of our NBA Picks, and now after the huge slate on Wednesday, Thursday only has two games to choose from.

Wizards vs. Bucks
Neither one of these teams had to play last night, so while they will be rested heading into this game, the apathy might start to set in for both teams. They are two of the last teams to play before the All Star Break, and one or both teams might decide to start their break early tonight by not playing much defense.

Let’s be honest, neither one of these teams plays much defense to begin with, but with the break approaching, and neither one of these teams going anywhere, this one could be a nice preview to the actual All Star Game. The score could easily be inflated, so while the NBA Odds have the spread at -1 in favor of the Bucks, the total of 211 is far more appealing.

The total has already gone up a point since it opened at 210, and while it’s still a high number, the trends are on the side of the over. If you combine their respective home and road splits for tonight, these two teams are 30-15 cashing the over in their respective positions tonight. On top of that, the over ha snow cashed at 2-0-1 in their last three matchups, which all three of which have come this season.

The over is also 5-2 in Washington’s last seven games coming into this one, and the over has been even better for bettors with the Wizards on the road, as it’s cashed at 12-3 in their last 15 road games. The Bucks aren’t much better when it comes to their lack of defense. Milwaukee has cashed the over in five straight home games, and while the Bucks’ defense has seen some improvements over their last ten games, the Wizards’ defense is giving up over 110 points per game in their last ten contests. With Washington playing zero defense on the road this season, look for the over to be a solid way to help you into the break with your bankroll in the black.

Pelicans vs. Thunder
The Pelicans were the only team that played last night that has to strap them up tonight, and after a nice win against the Jazz, the Pelicans get a much tougher challenge tonight as they head into Oklahoma City to play the Thunder. The NBA Odds have the Thunder as -11 ½ favorites in this one, with a huge total of 219½. While the total is once again up for an over play, with the Pelicans coming off the back to back, I actually think the safer play might be on the Thunder laying the points tonight.

It’s true that the Pelicans have been playing better off back to backs. They are 6-5 ATS this season when playing on no rest, and in their last five back to backs the Pelicans are 4-1 ATS. However, looking deeper into those, most of those more recent games on no rest came when they played their second game of a back to back at home, instead of on the road like they are tonight. In games where the Pelicans have to go from a road game to another road game, or a home game to an away game on consecutive nights, New Orleans is only 2-4 ATS this season.

It’s much tougher to play on the road on the second night of a back to back, especially a day before the All Star Break is set to begin. After their win last night, I bet the Pelicans become complacent, and if they are met with any sort of run against OKC tonight, don’t be surprised if they pack it in early. New Orleans is going nowhere this season, whereas the Thunder have a chance to make up some ground and put some distance between themselves and the rest of the West outside of San Antonio and Golden State. The Thunder seem to be in a tier all by themselves in the West as of the halfway point, and I expect the to continue dominating the lesser Western Conference teams.

While neither team has been great ATS recently. The Thunder are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight home games, and with the Pelicans on no rest and giving up nearly 105 points per game on the road, look for the Thunder to grab ahold of this one early and not let go. However, buy the half point just to be sure tonight. Take Thunder as the NBA pick tonight
