It was a rough night for us on Friday all around, however, we are still up on the week, and it’s time for me to dust myself off and jump back onto my winning ways with two more NBA Picks.

Pistons vs. Raptors
The Pistons lost a tough one to the Cavs last night both SU and ATS, and now they are headed into the Great White North to play the Raptors on the second half of a back to back. The NBA Odds have the Raptors as solid -7½ favorites with a total of 204 points, and with the spread lengthening up from -6½ to -7½, the Raptors seem like the best play with the inconsistent Pistons coming off the back to back.

This season, the Pistons are only 3-5-1 ATS when playing on no rest this season, and going into Toronto after a game last night and having to go through customs is not going to help their play this evening. Kyle Lowry’s injury scare was nothing but that, and he ended up playing tremendously in his most recent game, and against Reggie Jackson tonight I expect nothing less. Jackson and the Pistons have been extremely inconsistent this season, and teams are starting to figure out the Stan Van Gundy pick and roll with Jackson and Andre Drummond. While it may only be a temporary problem, I think it continues tonight against the very good defensive Raptors team.

On top of the Pistons being horrible on the second half of a back to back, especially games where they have to play on the road on no rest, the Raptors have been establishing themselves as the second best team in the East as of now. That may change considering we have an entire half of the season left to be played, but Toronto has won their last ten games in a row SU, they are 10-0 ATS during that same stretch, and with the Pistons coming in on no rest and 0-5 ATS on games they have to play on the road on no rest, this one is all about the Raptors tonight as the NBA pick.

Nuggets vs. Pacers
The Pacers got a huge win both SU and ATS for us against the Hawks two nights ago, and after a day to rest they welcome in the Nuggets to Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The NBA Odds have the Pacers as -8 favorites with a total of 208½. If you look at the Pacers’ ATS record against West teams when playing at home, it has not been great this season at 2-6 ATS. However, if you look deeper at the teams they have lost to, they have won several of those games SU, and lost to the likes of the Grizzlies, Warriors and Clippers SU. The Nuggets will not put up as much resistance as those teams tonight, and with the Pacers getting healthier off of their long road trip, I think laying the points is the play with them tonight.

Myles Turner has been playing outstanding basketball since coming off his injury, and Frank Vogel finally put him into the starting lineup like he should have been doing all along. If it weren’t for his hand injury that cost him over a month of the season, Turner might be the only kid left battling Karl-Anthony Towns for rookie of the year, but against the Nuggets tonight, Turner should be another offensive and defensive force. The 19-year old has almost become the Pacers secret weapon on offense, and a solid third option behind Paul George and Monta Ellis.

Despite being bad against the West at home, the Pacers are still 12-9 ATS when playing at home this season, and while the Nuggets have been very good on the road, I think their luck runs out against a Pacers team that is finally starting to get things back together after their long road trip and recent string of injuries.
