Two of the best teams from two different conferences meet up over the border when Oklahoma City visits Toronto. Both of these teams are playoff bound and have a lot of weapons to make a serious push. The NBA Odds have make the Raptors a small underdog but can they find a way to pull out the win?

The NBA Odds have made Toronto a +3 -105 underdog. For one of my NBA picks today I like Toronto in this spot to hang until the final buzzer or possibly pull off the upset. There is no denying how good OKC has been this season but Toronto has been equally impressive.

Toronto Raptors
Toronto ranks fifth in the NBA in offensive shooting efficiency and hit 36.9% of their shots beyond the arc which ranks third. Right now for Toronto it is all about trying to get home-court advantage throughout the playoffs which currently belongs to Cleveland. At home they have been very good most of the season with a 28-8 record and seem to have found a new identity when comparing them to last year.

This season the Raptors have focused more on pace and controlling tempo as they average 81.2 field goal attempts per game which ranks second to last in the league and allow opponents only 81.8 field goal attempts per game which ranks fourth. Being at home tonight will be crucial because tempo will definitely come into play against an Oklahoma City team that really likes to get up and down the court.

I like how Toronto matches up with OKC across the board but it will be the pace that dictates who wins this game. If Toronto can control tempo, which I think they will, they have a very good chance to pull the minor upset.

Oklahoma City Thunder
OKC averages 110.2 points per game which ranks second in the NBA and they average 47.8% in their overall shooting which ranks third in the league. There is no doubt how extremely good this Oklahoma City team is and they are on a seven game win streak. In their past seven games the ones in which Oklahoma City dominated they were able to get up there usual amount of shots or more, but in their tightest contest for example against the Pacers they only got up 80 attempts and won by four points.

I believe we are to see more of that tonight against Toronto which is why I anticipate this game to go down to the wire. A couple other key components will be rebounding and turnovers. While Oklahoma City ranks second in the league averaging 56.6 rebounds per game Toronto has been great in limiting opponent rebounds allowing just 48.7 per game which ranks third in the NBA. As far as turnovers Oklahoma City has been turning it over at a high rate ranking 26th in the NBA and turnovers per game and 24th in turnovers per play while the Raptors rank sixth and seventh in those categories respectively.
