Our expert NBA handicapper shares his top two totals on Tuesday’s card. These NBA picks have gone a superb 7-1 during the past three days!

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Brooklyn Nets
Brooklyn has gone 12-2 over the total in its last fourteen home games. During that stretch at the Barclays Center, they shot 48.2%, and made an outstanding 43.2% of their three point shots. They also allowed opponents 106.4 points per game, permitted them to shoot 49.0%, and convert 38.2% of their three point attempts. The previous five Brooklyn games overall have averaged a combined 217.4 points scored per contest. The Nets shot 48.6% during that time frame, and made an outstanding 43.3% of their three point tries. Unfortunately, they also allowed its opponents to shoot a sizzling hot 51.5% in that same span.

Philadelphia has gone 6-2 over the total in their last eight games. They allowed 114.0 points per game during that stretch, and their opponents converted on a very high 40.3% of its three point attempts.

The 76ers have seen all three games versus Brooklyn this season go under the total. The average total in those contests was 204.1, and those games stayed under the number by a sizable average of 12.1 points per outing. That hasn’t deterred the sportsbooks regarding their opening total on this contest. This game opened with a total of 207.5 across the board, and the current (11:00 AM ET) NBA odds boards at Heritage has a number of 208.5. Early public money has been overwhelmingly wagered on going under the total. I’m going to be fading the public in this one, and one of my Tuesday NBA picks will be indicative of exactly that.

L.A. Clippers vs. San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio has gone 9-1 under the total during its previous ten contests, and there was a combined average of 191.3 points scored per game. The Spurs also allowed less than 100 points on nine of those ten occasions. It’s worth noting, the Clippers have gone 16-2 (88.9%) under the total this season when scoring less than 100 points in a game.

Speaking of the Clippers, they’ve seen each of their last six road games stay under the total when there’s a number of 210.0 or less. Those contests averaged only a combined 188.3 points scored per game. The Clippers are coming off a resounding 114-90 home loss to Cleveland in their previous outing. They’ve gone 6-2 under the total this season following a game in which they scored 93 points or less. In two games versus San Antonio during this 2015-2016 NBA campaign, the Clippers averaged just 75 field goal attempts per contest. That equates to an extremely slow offensive tempo by NBA standards.

As we inch closer to the end of NBA regular season play, teams playing each other which can potentially meet in the playoffs usually prompts the defensive intensity to pick up considerably in those contests. I firmly that will be the case in this matchup tonight.
