Sunday night’s short NBA card still has its share of betting opportunities, with a pair of Eastern Conference affairs giving chances for a late bankroll boost.

Sunday’s Totals

The Toronto Raptors wrap up a short road trip against the Washington Wizards, while the Chicago Bulls host the Detroit Pistons. Let's look at how to place our money against what the NBA odds makers have set.

Toronto Raptors at Washington Wizards

Washington returns home after a pair of road losses, with the latest coming in Friday’s 97-92 setback as four-point favorite against the Orlando Magic. The Wizards trailed by as many as 16 points, held to a 37 percent night of field shooting.

Toronto ended a five-game losing streak on the same night’s slate, notching a 99-82 win as a 1 ½-point road dog in Detroit. Raptors mates DeMar DeRozan and Rudy Gay piled in 21 points each, while center Jonas Valanciunas came away with 13 boards and four of his side’s six blocks.

February’s pair of matchups between the Wizards and Raptors saw each squad cash once on the other’s floor, while the UNDER went 2-0. The battle hosted by Washington saw Toronto log a 96-88 win as a three-point dog, with the combined 184 points dipping below the ‘total’ of 190 ½.

I am backing the OVER in Sunday’s matchup, looking for more octane this time around.

Toronto has given up 106 PPG in its last six road dates against Eastern Conference rivals, with the OVER going 4-2. Washington has notched 108 PPG in its last five home affairs, including a 50 percent night from the floor in Monday’s 107-94 upset of the Memphis Grizzlies.

Detroit Pistons at Chicago Bulls

Chicago moved to 6-1 ATS in its last seven games with Saturday’s 100-98 defeat to the Dallas Mavericks, holding on to cash as a five-point road dog. Bulls forwards Luol Deng and Carlos Boozer united for 50 points and 18 boards, while mate Nate Robinson drilled 7-of-7 buckets from three-point land.

Detroit’s loss to Toronto as part of Friday’s card was the team’s 12th defeat in 13 games, with the Pistons logging a 3-5 spread record in the span’s eight road games. Lawrence Frank’s club has seen the UNDER cash at 2-0 in its last pair of affairs away from home, held to 90.5 PPG in Miami and Charlotte.

The Pistons and Bulls have split this year’s pair of meetings ATS, with Chicago notching an 85-82 win in January’s latest battle. Detroit held on to cash as 6 ½-point road dog, while the combined 167 points plunged below the ‘total’ of 182.

I am sensing more points will be put on the board in Sunday’s rematch, adding a ticket on the OVER for this contest.

Chicago’s drive should be down a notch here on no rest, while the spot follows a pair of marquee battles with Miami and Dallas over the past four days. The Pistons should get a few chances for back-door buckets due to this, while the OVER is 5-1-1 in the Bulls’ last seven duels overall.

Detroit is playing the front end of a back-to-back situation, allowing 110.7 PPG in the team’s last seven matchups played ahead of having no rest. Look for the Pistons to go through the same motions again here for this NBA pick, leading to some back-and-forth buckets between the rivals.
