Sunday’s NBA card has several matchups from the Western Conference, with different ends of the standings’ spectrum taking to the hardwood.

The Golden State Warriors host the Utah Jazz with both clubs still jockeying for playoff position, while the New Orleans Hornets and Phoenix Suns meet in a battle of cellar-dweller’s.

Which wagers look best to back on this card as the week’s action winds down?

Utah Jazz at Golden State Warriors

Golden State trailed by as many as 18 points in Friday’s 111-107 victory over Phoenix, while falling shy of cashing as an eight-point home favorite. Warriors mates Klay Thompson and David Lee united for 47 points, while guard Stephen Curry came away with 15 assists.

Utah moved to 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games on the same night action, notching a 95-83 win as eight-point home ‘chalk’ against New Orleans. Jazz forward Paul Millsap combined with mate Derrick Favors for 30 points and 20 boards, with Favors adding six of his squad’s eight blocks. opened Golden State as 5 ½-point ‘chalk’ for Sunday’s matchup, while first setting the ‘total’ at 200. Golden State is 4-1 ATS in its last five meetings with Utah, hosting the Jazz for the first time this year after splitting the season’s pair of matchups in Salt Lake.

I am backing the Jazz as road dogs here, looking for Millsap and Co. to collect in a high-octane affair. Feburary’s most recent battle between the rivals saw the Jazz notch a 115-101 victory as 3 ½-point favorites, shooting 50 percent from the floor.

Utah is 7-2 ATS in its last nine contests against Western Conference foes, while notching a 4-0 spread record in its most recent four duels away from home. Golden State has cashed a few tickets lately, but has gone just 4-12 ATS in its last 16 battles against foes with winning records.

NBA Pick: Utah Jazz +5 ½ ( for your NBA picks.

More from out West: Lakers vs. Clippers~

New Orleans Hornets at Phoenix Suns

Phoenix’ loss to Golden State on Friday’s card was the team’s eighth straight defeat, moving to a 3-5 ATS mark in that span. The Suns notched a 61.1 percent mark of field shooting, with guard Goran Dragic drilling 3-of-4 buckets beyond the arc en route to finishing with 32 points.

New Orleans dropped to 1-4 ATS in its last five games after losing to Utah, held by the Jazz to a 2-for-12 night from three-point land. Hornets forward Anthony Davis came away with 24 points and 12 boards, picking up a third double-double in seven games. opened New Orleans as a two-point NBA odds favorite, while first listing the ‘total’ at 196. Early wagers on the Hornets and OVER drove the numbers north to 2 ½ and 198.

I am going against the ‘steam,’ backing the Suns as home dogs here. Phoenix is 2-1 ATS since Goran Dragic’s return to the team’s lineup, while putting up 103.5 PPG in its last four home dates.

New Orleans has a 2-5 spread record in its last seven spots that followed defeats, while logging eight straight losing ATS tickets in matchups away from home. The Hornets have come away with losses in their last two trips to Phoenix, blowing a 19-point lead in November’s most recent 111-108 overtime defeat.

NBA Pick: Phoenix Suns +2 ½ (
