The Dallas Mavericks (22-18) visit the United Center to take on the Chicago Bulls (23-15). The Bulls are a 1-point favorite on the NBA odds board and the total has been set at 203.

NBA Pick: Under 203
Best Line Offered: at Heritage

Dallas Mavericks
The Mavericks are struggling, losing three of their last four games, including a 108-89 setback to the Thunder last Wednesday. With the Mavs on the second night of a back-to-back after an overtime loss to the Cavaliers on Tuesday, head coach Rick Carlisle chose not to play his starters, Dirk Nowitzki, Wesley Matthews, Chandler Parsons, Deron Williams and Zaza Pachulia. Oklahoma City took advantage, led by 29 points and 10 rebounds from Kevin Durant. J.J. Barea finished with 18 points and six assists for Dallas.

The Mavs average 101.3 points per game on 44.2 percent shooting and they grab 43.7 rebounds per game. Defensively, Dallas allows 101.2 points per game, their opponents shoot 44.7 percent from the floor and pull down 45.6 rebounds per game. Dirk Nowitzki leads the Mavericks with 17.7 points per game, Deron Williams averages 14.2 points and 5.7 assists and Wesley Matthews adds 12.9 points per game.

Chicago Bulls
The Bulls were able to snap a three-game losing streak by erasing a 24-point deficit against the 76ers to take a 115-111 OT win last night. With Pau Gasol and Derrick Rose out, Jimmy Butler stepped up and finished with a career-high 53 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and three steals.

Only Michael Jordan and Jimmy Butler have had at least 50 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a game for the Bulls over the past 30 seasons and Jordan and Butler are the only NBA players to finish with at least 50 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and 3 steals in a road game.

Chicago averages 102.5 points per game on 43.5 shooting and they pull down 46.6 rebounds per game. The Bulls defense allows 101.1 points per game and their opponents shoot 42.3 percent and grab 46.6 rebounds per game.

Jimmy Butler leads the Bulls with 23.1 points, 4.2 assists and 1.8 steals, Pau Gasol averages 16.2 points and 10.9 rebounds and Derrick Rose adds 14.7 points and 3.1 assists.

Betting Trends
The 'Under' is 10-5 after the Mavericks allow 105 points or more and 10-6 when they play against a team with a winning record.

The 'Under' is 13-9 in Chicago's home games and 11-2 in their non-conference games. Three of the last five games between these two teams have gone 'Under.'

Final Analysis
Derrick Rose missed the game against the 76ers while dealing with tendinitis in his left knee and his status for tonight is unclear, although he previously said he'd "for sure" play against the Mavs and Pau Gasol is dealing with shoulder/Achilles injuries and he is questionable for this game.

The total for this game has been set at 203 on the NBA odds board and I like the 'Under' for my NBA picks because the Mavericks have scored over 100 points in just two of their last five games and the Bulls will be tired after last night's tough game against the 76ers and Rose and Gasol will be banged up if they play.
