Both of these teams played last night and the NBA Odds for the total have been flying upward. With the Wolves’ struggling on defense and the Lakers pushing the pace, with both teams tired, the over looks like a strong wager.

 Lakers vs. Wolves

7:00 PM ET, Target Center, Minneapolis, MN

When Tom Thibodeau was hired to coach the Wolves, a lot of people were overly bullish on them coming into the season. A lot of people were picking them to finish eighth in the West and be one of the better defensive teams in the NBA.

While they have shown flashes this team is a while away from being a great defensive team. This season they have been anything but that and when it comes to making the playoffs, their 2-6 start isn’t going to help, but it’s far from impossible that they could make a run towards the playoffs. The West is wide open after the first three or four playoff spots, but the Wolves are going to have to start figuring some things out.

As for the Lakers, they are the ones looking like the potential playoff team. With a mixture of good young talent and some solid veterans, the Lakers have been youthfully making their way to a 6-4 record to start the season.

Both teams are coming off a back to back and with the total flying upward to 215 ½, we need to run up and catch this over train before it gets too far away from where it opened at 211 ½.

The Lakers are playing at a pace of almost 100 possessions per 48 minutes this season and against a team like Minnesota coming off the back to back, that will lead to even less defense and a pace-up game that will cash the over.
