Toronto Raptors (-6) vs. Orlando Magic 7:05 ET
The Toronto Raptors travel to Orlando, following their 92-74 win at Charlotte on Wednesday night. Orlando comes off a victory themselves, pulling a shocking upset of the Bulls (105-103) on this court that same evening. These teams have already met 3 times this season with Toronto capturing victories of 13 and 4 points north of the border and 13 points on this floor. That now makes it 10 straight in the series with covers in 8 of those, and you should keep this in mind when looking at the NBA odds. In fact, in the last 2 seasons, 5 of the 7 victories have been by 13 or more points. Expect yet another one tonight!

The Orlando Magic stands 25-53 SU for the season.  A record that is better than only lowly, Philly and New York, in the Eastern Conference.  That mark includes 13-26 SU on this floor, including 12-19 ATS as home dog (1-4 in that role recently).  This is a young, emerging team, who shows offensive promise.  But, they allow 102 PPG on defense, the highest allowance in the Eastern Conference. That is not a good sign when facing the Toronto Raptors, who’s 104 PPG is the highest average in the East.

Toronto has ample motivation in this late season game.  The Raptors enter at 46-32 SU, currently in 4th place in the Eastern Conference.  As winner of the Atlantic Division, they are in good stead in the playoff race.  But, seeding is still at stake, as they trail Chicago by ½ game and lead Washington by 1 game in the playoff hunt.  The good news for the Raptors is that they may well benefit from the return of Kyle Lowry tonight, who has missed the previous 7 games with a back injury.  The lead guard averages 18 PPG with 7 assists, 5 rebounds and a total of 102 steals for the season.  Along with DeMar DeRozan and Lou Williams, this is one of the most prolific offenses in the league.  Of interest is the fact that Toronto has been focusing on improving their defense for the upcoming playoffs. The 74 points allowed to Charlotte could well be an example that their hard work is paying off.

There is little question that the series dominance by the Raptors is a positive factor in this matchup tonight.  In addition, their positive record of 6-1 ATS as road chalk to -6 fits nicely with the futility that Orlando has shown on their home court.  Note to prior to that Chicago victory on Wednesday, Orlando had lost their previous 4 home games by margins of 12 to San Antonio, 14 to Detroit, 12 to Atlanta and 19 to Denver.  No surprise if a highly motivated Toronto team records yet another double digit series victory, so we'll back them up with our NBA picks.
