Bulls vs. Wizards
This should be one of the most competitive games of the evening, as the Bulls and Wizards hook up, both on the second night of a back to back. Both teams got much-needed wins yesterday to keep pace with the rest of the East, and both had to travel after their game to get to Washington DC.
The NBA Odds have the Bulls as slight +1 road dogs here, with a very low total of 183 points. On the second night of a back to back, both teams will be tired, however both have performed somewhat well on the second night of a back to back. This is why I am laying off this virtually even spread, and going with the more valuable wager, the total of 183.
So far this season, the Wizards are 10-9 cashing the over on the second night of a back to back, and while the Bulls are normally a very good defensive team, on no rest they might be tired this late in the season. They have looked a little tired over their last few games too, and that is why I think the over is the play.
The Bulls have cashed the over in three of their last four games overall, and four of their last five road games too. This late in the season, the Bulls’ defense is starting to become overvalued. They have extended so much energy throughout the season, they simply have nothing left right now. Joakim Noah and Jimmy Butler have been playing huge minutes to keep the Bulls in the standings, and it is catching up to them.
In the Wizards’ and Bulls’ last three meetings, the total has gone over in all of them, and their last two meetings this season have both been higher scoring. This is the 2nd lowest total they have seen this season, and I am taking advantage.
My Pick: OVER 183
Bobcats vs. Cavs
Like most teams playing tonight, the Cats and Cavs both played 24 hours ago, and the NBA Odds have the Cavs as -3 favorites here, with a total of 195. Being a favorite in a game is something the Cavs are not used to. In fact this season the Cavs have been favored only 23 times, and they are a league worst 8-15 ATS when playing as favorites.
So tonight as you may have guessed, I love the Bobcats here, even on the second night of a back to back. Charlotte has not been great ATS on no rest this season at 7-14 ATS. However the team they are playing is on a back to back too, which should help even things out. Kemba Walker did tweak his ankle in last night’s game, however he stayed in the game and finished with a triple double.
The Cats have been undervalued in certain road games like this one, and I’m not sure why they are once again solid dogs to an inferior team on the road. The Cavs are pretty good on no rest this season at 11-7 ATS, however they are only 6-11 ATS this season as home favorites.
The Cats on the other hand are 30-21-2 ATS this season when playing as an underdog, and they are 18-13-2 ATS playing as a road underdog. Charlotte is also an Eastern Conference leading 28-17 ATS this season in conference games. Take the points with the Cats.
My Pick: Bobcats +3
