How are the NBA betting odds shaping up for Saturday night? On a relatively quiet day in terms of amount of games, we've got to be extra careful with our selections – let's examine the sports betting lines and come up with two picks to take to the books.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Washington Wizards
One night after an outstanding performance against Indiana, the Wizards will try to keep it going with another victory at home. They'll be favored by 4.5 to 5 points at the sportsbooks for this encounter with the Hawks.

Atlanta has been extremely poor lately, losing five straight games to put their playoff position in serious jeopardy. They've fallen to Portland, Phoenix and New Orleans at home and Minnesota and Toronto on the road during the losing run.

Not only have the Hawks lost five in a row, they've also failed to cover the spread in any of the defeats, and we don't think they're worth backing here tonight.

Washington got a much-needed boost by that 91-78 win over the Pacers. They were underdogs coming in, but Marcin Gortat (17 points and 12 rebounds) and John Wall (20 points and eight assists) were the catalysts in a big Wizards victory. Washington was fantastic defensively, holding Indiana to 35.4 percent shooting overall and 15.4 percent from three.

The fact the Hawks have been brutal on the road only serves to bolster our pick. They've gone 11-26 SU away from home, while recording a 13-23-1 ATS mark.

As we mentioned, the Wizards looked excellent in last night's win over the Pacers and we see no reason why we can't keep that going against Atlanta. Wall and company have done just fine on back-to-backs as well, having gone 10-7 SU and 12-5 ATS when playing on no days of rest.

With that said, we're laying the number and taking Washington to come through for backers.

Pick: Washington Wizards -4.5

Miami Heat vs. Milwaukee Bucks

Talk about mismatches. The Bucks, 14-58 SU on the season, will welcome a Heat team that's gone 49-22 SU, with oddsmakers listing the defending champs as 9.5-point favorites.

Miami bounced back in dominant fashion after a hard-fought loss to Indiana, crushing Detroit 110-78 as five-point favorites. Six different players hit double figures in the win, but LeBron James stood out, of course, by posting a triple-double (17/12/10).

The Heat take on a Bucks team that just broke an eight-game losing streak by beating the Lakers by three two nights ago. Despite that win, Milwaukee is still just 9-27 SU and 15-21 ATS on their home court.

It's almost embarrassing how bad the Bucks have been this season and there's simply no way we can justify selecting them, regardless of how many points they're getting from sportsbooks.

Sure, the Heat are a little banged up with Dwyane Wade (hamstring), Ray Allen (flu) and Mario Chalmers (thigh) all questionable, but it obviously didn't make much of a difference against Detroit and we don't expect much trouble for LeBron and company against lowly Milwaukee either.

In the one head-to-head meeting this season, Miami cake-walked to a 118-95 victory as 13.5-point chalk. Even though the Heat are on the road this time around, we could easily see a similar final score tonight, so we have no qualms about recommending the visitors with our sports picks.

Milwaukee is a team you should stay far away from. Take Miami to win in style.

Pick: Miami Heat -9.5
