Saturday is a shorter card in the NBA, and after a huge night of action on Friday, there are only five games this evening.

Hawks vs. Wizards

Both of these teams played last night and had to travel, and for this evening, the NBA Odds have the Hawks as +3 ½ road underdogs, with a total of 195 ½. Both of these teams have been hot at scoring the ball this season, as both are right around 100 points per game. While both have been getting better by each game on defense, I think the back to back is going to start to hurt. We are about 15 games in, and this is right around the time teams start to feel back to backs. Defense should be the first thing that falters tonight between these tired teams.

Both teams are also giving up around 100 points per game as well, and that number should increase tonight off the back to back. The Hawks have given up over 105 points per game in their last three games, and on the road this season, the Hawks are averaging around 103 opponents points per game.

The Wizards at home aren’t much better on defense. They are giving up over 103 points per game at home, and over their last three games, they have scored an average of 104 points per game. That should make the over have some value this evening, and I’m taking it.

My Pick: ‘Over’ 195 ½

Rockets vs. Spurs

The battle of Texas will happen with one team playing last night. The Rockets played down the road in Houston against the Nets, and tonight they are +6 ½ road underdogs in San Antonio. Even though they had a very small journey to travel after their game last night, I think the Rockets may not be a great bet tonight in San Antonio.

The Rockets’ defense has not been great this season, and on the road, it gets a lot worse. The Rockets are giving up almost 110 points per game on the road, and against the highly efficient Spurs, that number probably won’t improve any tonight.

On top of their horrible defense on the road, the Rockets are going to have to deal with one of the best home defenses in the NBA. The Spurs this season have played seven home games this season, and the Spurs are holding teams ton under 90 points per game in those seven home games.

Tonight, after a tough game against the Nets, I see the Spurs as the play. Not only have they been off since Wednesday, but their home court advantage is pretty big this season. The Spurs have covered four of their last six games against the Rockets overall, and with James Harden hurting, the Spurs have to be the play here.

Harden is not at 100% even if he plays, and without him, the Rockets are lost on offense. Take the Spurs for your NBA picks here.

My Pick: Spurs -6 ½ at William Hill
