Saturday NBA Betting
Only seven games line the schedule this evening, and we have to extract value from the NBA odds lines as carefully as possible in order to get a couple of winning tickets.
Wizards vs. Bobcats
It’s the battle of the crap teams in the Eastern Conference this evening, as the Bobcats come off their game last night in Charlotte against the Thunder, and now enter Washington DC for their game tonight against the Wizards. Washington is a big -11 favorite this evening, with an over/under of 188 ½.
The Wizards also played last night, as they were in Brooklyn for the first time and got beat down by the Nets. Now one would think the Wizards are the play here tonight. The Bobcats have been awful ATS this season, and after a back to back, they are one of the worst teams in the NBA, going only 5-11 ATS on the second night of a back to back.
On top of that, the Wizards are one of the best teams playing on no rest, In 14 games this season playing on the second night of a back to back, the Wizards are 12-2 ATS. However, -11 is a lofty spread for any team to cover, and while it wouldn’t surprise me if they did, I think the total is where the value is lying this evening.
At 188 ½, I really like the over this evening. The last time these two hooked up in DC, the total flew over in a 108-106 game. I’m thinking a similar style of game is in order for this evening. Both teams will have tired legs, affecting defense for these young teams. Charlotte already doesn’t play much defense, and tonight, I think we will see a fast paced game, with plenty of easy baskets. 188 ½ is just a bit low. In their 16 back to backs this season, the Bobcats are 9-7 cashing the over with no rest. Even though the trends are trending under, I’m siding with the over for this NBA pick.
My NBA Pick: OVER 188 ½
Nuggets vs. Wolves
Both teams had the night off last night, but that doesn’t mean the Nuggets aren’t huge favorites in this game. Denver is a huge -15 favorite, with a total of 209 ½. Minnesota is still really injured, and that is having an affect on not only their season, but also how the books value them.
The Wolves will still be without three of their starts, all in the front court, making some of the Nuggets’ big men great plays tonight in props and daily fantasy. The Nuggets should beat up on the Wolves in the paint, because the closest thing they have to a shot blocker right now is Greg Stiemsma.
However, the spread is a bit too high for my liking. As we get farther into the season, NBA bettors have to realize that spreads are getting sharper by the day. However, totals are becoming a lot harder to predict, which plays right into the bettors’ hands.
I’m once again siding with the over in this one. The Wolves have cashed the over in 17 of their 29 road games this season, and with no defense along their frontcourt tonight, I don’t think there will be any stopping the Nuggets when they go to the hole.
Denver will be able to score at will, and the Wolves should too considering the Denver defense. Five of the last six times these two have faced, the total has gone over. Plus, Minnesota owns the seasons series so far between these two, and I think Denver will want to put a big beating down on them after losing to them the last two times they have faced.
My NBA Pick: OVER 209 ½ at Bookamker[gameodds]5/220628/43/us[/gameodds]
