NBA Picks of the day
We had a strong evening last night, so let’s see if I can keep it going on Saturday night with this very short card.
Nets vs. Bulls
Chicago plays host to the Nets this fine evening, and after their game last night in Brooklyn, the Nets find themselves as +5 road underdogs tonight in Chicago. This could be a first round 4 vs. 5-playoff matchup in the East, and both of these teams are pretty similar this season as they currently are constructed.
The Nets lost last night at home against Dallas after being -3 favorites. This season, the back-to-back has hurt the Nets, as they are only 6-7 SU in back to back games this season. They have done better recently, winning their last three second games of back to backs, but they have already been in a similar situation this season, losing to Chicago on the second night of a back to back after playing at home the night before.
Tonight, the spread is off limits to me. The Bulls can’t cover to save their lives, and the Nets are a whirlwind of emotions right now. The good news for the Nets is they are finally healthy. However, coming off the back to back, I think the first half total is by far the best value. At 90 total points, I think the under in the first half is our best bet for this game. The Nets will some out tired and sloppy, and will probably be affected by the Bulls’ defense, while Chicago can’t score to save their lives anyways. With a full game total of 178, a first half total of 90 seems like solid value to add the under to our NBA Picks tonight.
My Pick: UNDER 90 1H
Raptors vs. Bucks
Another team coming off of a home game loss last night is the Raptors. Toronto couldn’t hold back the Pacers last night, and then they had to hop over to Milwaukee for their game tonight against the Bucks. Tonight’s NBA odds lines favor the Bucks at -5, with a total of an even 200 points.
The Raptors were only able to score 81 points last night against a very good defensive Pacers team, and tonight, they face a whole different animal in the Bucks. Milwaukee has been scoring and giving up points in bunches over the last few weeks, and even this season. The Bucks were only 4-8 SU in the month of February, and a big reason why is because they gave up an average of almost 102 points per game in that stretch.
The Raptors too have been scoring the ball well in February, but they have had the opposite effect on the standings. Toronto went 7-5 SU in February, and against teams like the Bucks, such as the Nuggets and, the Raptors were in some higher scoring affairs at times since they acquired Rudy Gay.
Obviously the Raptors want to focus on defense, but after their game last night, offense is going to rule the day this evening. While the Raptors cash the under at home, they have made bettors of the over money this season when they are on the road. On top of that, the Bucks of course score better at home, making the over the only way to go in this one. The over has cashed in four of the last six meetings between these two, including the one already this season. I see a very similar style of game coming, as last time the Bucks won on the road 107-96. Take the over this evening.
NCAA Picks: OVER 200 at 5dimes
