NBA Picks of the day
I surged at this point last season, so let’s see if I have the magic tough going for tonight with my two NBA Picks.
Pacers vs. Wizards
The Pacers got smacked last night at home against the Thunder, as they lost 75-97. Indiana is now on the road tonight, and the Pacers come into Washington DC as -4 favorites with a total of 184 ½ points on most NBA odds boards.
Against the Wizards tonight, I can’t help but think this will be a lower scoring game. At home, the Wizards actually play pretty solid defense, and coming off the back-to-back last night, the Pacers will be a little tired. For a team like Indiana, I think that will only make this into a slower game, more focused on the half court.
On their second game of a back to back this season, the Pacers have cashed the under at 12-9. Plus, even though the Wizards score the ball much better when playing at home, the Pacers are the number one road defensive team in the NBA, giving up an average of only 91 points per game when playing away from Indianapolis.
Two of the last three times these two have faced one another, (two this season) the total has gone under, as well as four of the last six times they have played the total has been on the short side. The under has cashed in six of the last nine games for the Pacers, and in four of Washington’s last five overall. I see 184 ½ as close, but the game total should fall under.
My Pick: UNDER 184 ½
Bobcats vs. Nets
After getting waxed by the Heat’s B Team last night, the Bobcats have to now travel into Brooklyn to play the Nets. While Miami may have their playoff spot locked up, the Nets do not, and they will be playing full strength for this game.
The Bobcats come in as +14 ½ underdogs in this one with an over/under of 196. For this one, I’m actually staying away from the total and going with the spread for the first half and the full game. I don’t see any way the Cats stay in the game with this one.
Charlotte’s offense on the road is awful, as they only average about 90 points per game on the road. In fact, in their two games against the Nets this season, they haven’t even gotten that much. In December in Brooklyn the Cats only mustered up 81 points, and in Charlotte about a month ago, they only scored 78.
The Nets have their number defensively, and with nothing to play for, I think the Cats will fold extra early, making the two spreads for this game money in the bank. On the second game of a back to back this season, the Cats are only 6-14 ATS. Plus, Brooklyn is 5-1 ATS in their last six meetings with the Cats; including two wins ATS this season. Charlotte will be out of this game by half way through the second quarter, so lay the points.
