NBA Picks of the day
I’ve identified a few picks tonight that I think hold great value, so follow along as we dive right in.
Bobcats vs. Sixers
Both teams played last night on the road and now meet up in Philadelphia for their Saturday night showdown. The 76ers come into this game favored on the NBA odds boards by an enormous -10 ½, and a total of 194 ½. While it seems the books are focusing more on trying to get people to bet on the Bobcats, I’m almost drooling over this total.
At 194 ½, I think we have some nice value for an over bet here tonight. Both teams will be tired from last night, and while the Bobcats have been giving up tons of points all season, the Sixers just recently fell into their defensive lapse. Cleveland did only score 87 points against them last night, but they were without both of their backcourt guys still. Now being tired will lead to a lot more offense.
The Bobcats are giving up 104 points per game on the road this season, and since it seems the Sixers have somewhat fixed their offensive woes, this is over time tonight. Philly has scored an average of 101 points per game in their last five games overall, while the Bobcats have given up nearly 106 per game in their last seven overall.
The over has cashed between these two in four of their last six meetings overall as well as three of the last four. In recent play the Bobcats have cashed the over in five of their last seven including last night, while the Sixers have cashed the over in five of their last seven road games. The offense won’t be broke tonight; it will be the defense, or the sad excuse for it.
My Pick: OVER 194 ½
Blazers vs. Warriors
This one should be no contest tonight in my eyes, as the Warriors come into this game as -9 favorites with a total of 202 ½. The bad news for Portland is they will once again be without their All Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge, and that spells bad news against the opposing front line of David Lee and Andrew Bogut. Aldridge missed last night’s game at home against Utah and the Blazers lost both SU and ATS 95-105.
The Warriors had the night off last night and tonight without Aldridge, I see the Warriors dominated the battle with points in the paint, rebounds and general defense. Golden State is still trying to hold off Houston and the rest of the bottom teams in the West right now, and they are trying to secure that 6th seed.
The Warriors have covered in three of their last five times playing the Blazers at home, while the Blazers are 2-13 SU in their last 15 trips to Oakland. The Warriors are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games playing the Blazers overall and Portland is 2-8 ATS in their last ten trips to Golden State. With no Aldridge, the Blazers’ offense will be hectic, and their defense will suffer even more than their offense. Lay the nine points for this NBA Pick.
My Pick: Warriors -9
