We are facing a short card in the NBA for Saturday, as college basketball is still the main betting attracting.

NBA Picks for Saturday

However, there is still value to be had in the NBA, and I have a couple of free picks that I really like in the NBA tonight.

Suns vs. Wizards

Both teams had to play last night, as the Wizards dispatched the Hornets in Washington, and the Suns lost a tough one in Atlanta. Now they play one another this evening, and the Wizards are -6 ½ favorites with a total of 189 ½ on the NBA odds board. I wouldn’t bet either of these teams coming off a back to back on the spread, but the total is looking quite nice this evening.

Washington has been scoring the ball better recently, especially at home. The Suns on the other side play little to no defense on the road this season. This total is ripe for an over bet here on Saturday night.

The Suns will still be without the only member of their team that okays defense in Marcin Gortat, and even though the trends lean on the under, it’s the over that needs a pick tonight. This is the lowest total these two teams have had in a while, and in all ten of their previous matchups dating back to 2007, one or both teams scored into the 100s. The totals were just very high into the 200s.

My NBA Pick: OVER 189 ½

Bobcats vs. Celtics

The last time these two played a little less than a week ago, the Bobcats turned in a 20 plus point win over the C’s in Charlotte, ending a huge losing streak both SU and ATS, Now they play once again, but this time in Boston.

The Celtics are huge -16 favorites here at home tonight, with a total of 189. Once again, I’m staying away from the huge spread and siding with the game total tonight. The Bobcats of course played last night in Toronto and after hanging around for most of the game, Toronto dominated the 4th quarter and won by 14 points.

This game should be much different than the last time these two faced one another, but this is the month of March, and the upset is in the air. Don’t think it’s just in NCAAB. The Bobcats are actually one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA, and it gets even worse when they are playing on the second night of a back to back. The Bobcats are 10-7 covering the over this season on the second night of a back to back, and after their game against one another, you can bet that the Bobcats can score on Boston.

Even though the Bobcats have some trouble scoring on the road, they have been good against teams that are susceptible to fast point guards. Kemba Walker had a bad night last night only shooting 5/17, but he had 20 points and was good in other areas. Walker didn’t have to shine the time these two played on Tuesday because of Gerald Henderson, but I think he and the other Cats will be able to score tonight again, as will the Celtics. Take the over.
