The Oklahoma City Thunder had a really rough start to the 2014-15 season but they seem to have weathered the storm. Now that Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are back, the team has gotten on a roll. On Tuesday, they’ll have a chance to keep it going as they’re a road favorite on the NBA betting lines in Sacramento.

The Oklahoma City Thunder Can Win Because…
They’re on fire right now. The Thunder have won six straight games and are blowing teams off the map. They are coming an impressive 112-88 win over the Phoenix Suns, which is the very team they’re chasing for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. As tumultuous a first month as they had, the Thunder are now just a half-game out of a playoff spot.

The Thunder have been a great bet as they’ve been winning by wide margins, for the most part. Over their last six games, they’ve won by 24, 19, nine, 13, two and 12. Tuesday should be another easy win as the Kings are sinking quickly.

If you’re looking at a side for your NBA picks in this one, the Thunder have to be the choice.

The Sacramento Kings Can Win Because…
…is there a good reason? It’s one thing to say that the Kings have gone from bad to worse but really, they actually started the year quite well. They won five of their first six games and looked like they’d be in contention for a playoff spot. However, everything has gone sour since then, so things went from good, to bad, to worse. On Sunday night, rumors circulated that the Kings had fired head coach Mike Malone, which really sucks for him. It had looked like the team had finally turned around their miserable ways with such a positive start but then the team lost DeMarcus Cousins to an illness. Without him, they’ve been a mess. They’ve lost 12 of 18 and the problem is that they’re looking less and less competitive by the day. Some of their recent losses are unforgivable as they dropped a 95-90 result to the Detroit Pistons on Saturday, a 98-95 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers and a 105-96 loss to Orlando on December 6th. They’re just a mess right now and they need Cousins back. However, in the meantime, the team decided not to wait for that as they had seen enough of Malone.

In any case, you’ve got a bad Kings team that’s without its star and now without a head coach. It’s tough to bet them in this spot.

This is a matchup of two teams at opposite ends of the spectrum, a short NBA odds analysis can help us look things clearer. On one hand, you’ve got the Thunder, who are rolling and stomping everyone in their path. On the other hand, there’s the Kings, who are once again a calamitous mess. It makes no sense to take the Kings here – even with the points. Lay the points with the Thunder.
