NBA odds show Cavaliers as a big favorite against Wizards, who has not been playing well as of late. Let's analyze which are the best NBA picks we can choose for this matchup.

Two teams heading in different directions meet when the Washington Wizards visit the Cleveland Cavaliers. NBA odds have the Cavs as a huge favorite in this spot and for good reason, the Wizards simply have not been playing good basketball recently. Part of the issue is some injuries but they have also just been stagnant on offense. This game could get ugly and I like a rested Cavs team to put the hurt on tonight.

NBA Odds Overview
Odds makers have come out with the Cavs as a favorite across the board at -9.5 -108 at Pinnacle. Normally I don't like to back big favorites, but when I do it is this type of situation. Until Washington gets healthy and starts to remotely resemble their team from last year, for one of my NBA picks, I will take Cleveland minus the big points.

Washington Wizards
The Wizards are averaging 99.2 points per game, 46.2% shooting from the field, and 35% from beyond the arc. They are without Nene right now and are struggling on both ends of the floor. They have tried to revamp their offense recently with Gortat being the sole interior player and spreading the floor, but it hasn't been very successful. To me it just seems they are not very deep, and with injuries and this implementation they might struggle for a bit.

On defense the Wizards are allowing 105.1 points per game, 46% shooting from the field, and almost 40% from beyond the arc. This is the guts of the problem, they are not getting it done on this end of the floor. This is what their foundation was last year, but recently they have simply not played good defense which could be a major problem against a very efficient Cavs offense.

Cleveland Cavaliers
Cleveland is averaging 103.1 points per game, shooting 46.1% from the field, and 36.7% from beyond the arc. Probably the most concerning thing for the league is they have really solid offensive numbers WITHOUT Kyrie Irving (expected back soon but not tonight). We know Lebron is going to do his thing, but I will keep this simple: as long as Irving is healthy, the Cavs will win the East, period. They haven't really blown a lot of teams out this season, but winning by double digits tonight should be expected.

Defensively, the Cavs are allowing 96.5 points per game, 46.6% shooting from the field, and 34.3% from beyond the arc. There are definitely some things on this end of the floor they need to clean up, but they have been solid in limiting opponent rebounds and fast break points, both stats the Wizards would have to be successful in to hang with the Cavs tonight.

This seems like a lot of points and a set up game for the Wizards to actually play a good game. I don't think that is the case though, as the way the two teams are playing right suggests the Cavs should handle business at home. For one of your NBA picks, I recommend backing the Cavs to win by double digits.
