Free NBA picks for today's matchup between the Toronto Raptors and the Atlanta Hawks. What have the NBA odds makers laid out for us, and where are we looking to place our sports picks?

The Toronto Raptors have hit a late stretch of steam with a 5-1 spread record in their last six games. Tuesday’s NBA betting has Dwane Casey’s club visiting the Atlanta Hawks, who have piled in 110 PPG in their last three matchups.

Will the Raptors stay hot here or is it time to lay the points with Atlanta?

Can the Spurs beat the Heat in a seven game playoffs series?

Hawks, Teague surge past Bucks

Atlanta trailed by as many as 19 points in Friday’s 109-104 win over the Milwaukee Bucks, while falling shy of cashing as a 7 ½-point home favorite. The Hawks hit 50.6 percent of their floor buckets, outscoring Milwaukee in the second half, 69-50.

Hawks guard Jeff Teague logged his second straight double-double, notching team-highs of 24 points and 10 assists. Atlanta’s Al Horford grabbed 17 boards, while mate Josh Smith logged four steals and two blocks.

The battle’s combined 213 points leaped beyond the ‘total’ of 203 ½, lifting the OVER to 7-4 in the Hawks’ last 11 games. Atlanta edged out the Bucks in paint points by a 62-30 margin, while outrebounded, 48-46.

Raptors, DeRozan hold off Nets

Toronto notched its third straight win with Sunday’s 93-87 victory as a four-point home dog against the Brooklyn Nets. The Raptors led by as many as 21 points, holding Brooklyn to a 40.5 percent day from the field.

Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan put up 36 points, including a perfect 9-for-9 outing at the foul line. Toronto’s Rudy Gay finished with 26 points and 10 boards, uniting with DeRozan to drill 6-of-10 shots from three-point land.

The matchup’s combined 180 points dipped below the ‘total’ of 194 ½, bringing the UNDER to 5-1 in the Raptors’ last six contests. Gay added three of his side’s four steals, while mate Kyle Lowry logged a team-high six assists.

Back the Raptors as road dogs

The NBA odds makers at opened Atlanta as a six-point home favorite, while first setting the ‘total’ at 197. Both squads are playing the front end of a back-to-back spot, with Atlanta traveling to meet the New York Knicks and Toronto returning home against the Boston Celtics.

I am adding a ticket on Toronto here to my night of sports picks, taking the points. Atlanta has remained too inconsistent to back as favorite, logging a 0-6 ATS mark in their last six home dates.

The Raptors may not be playoff-bound, but have not quit yet with some of its recent effort. DeMar DeRozan has put in 22.8 PPG over his last six outings, while Rudy Gay’s scoring has also surged since joining the club, two months ago.

Toronto is 4-1 ATS in its last five trips to Atlanta, including January’s cashed ticket as a seven-point dog in a 92-92 defeat. The Raptors outrebounded the Hawks by a sizable 52-36 margin, leading by as many as 13 points.

Atlanta has a 1-6 spread record in its last seven duels against Eastern Conference foes, while being overvalued with a 0-4 ATS mark in spots following its most recent four wins. Look for the Hawks to come up short again here, giving the money to Toronto’s backers.
