The lottery bound Cavs play host to the Raptors tonight, and the early NBA odds out have Toronto as a small -1 ½ favorite on the road in this one, with a total of 200 points. With Kyrie Irving’s status still in doubt after missing last night’s game for the Cavs, whom should we back with our NBA Picks for the game in Cleveland tonight?
Cleveland had to play last night in Chicago without their star point guard Kyrie Irving, and now his status is in question as the Cavs head back home to meet the Raptors. Cleveland has had some success against the Raptors in the past, winning 11 of the last 15 games between these two in Cleveland. However the Raptors have the upper hand of not playing last night.
However, Toronto also has had recent success against the Cavs, winning their last four meetings from Cleveland. The Cavs won these two teams’ only other meeting this season by one point in Toronto, but that was right before the Raptors got Rudy Gay, and of course since Toronto has become a different team.
With the possibility of no Irving tonight for the Cavs, and after Cleveland’s tough game in Chicago last night, I’m siding with the value we are getting with the Raptors right now, and going with them on the money line. Toronto is 6-2 SU in their last eight games, and 4-1 SU in their last five road games. I see Gay taking over tonight’s game, and for the Cavs to potential have no answer if Irving doesn’t play.
The Raptors have won four of the last six games between these two overall, and I think they will make if 5 out of 7 after this evening. The Cavs aren’t much of an opponent anyway, and if Irving sits again, they will look even more desolate. Add Toronto on the money line to your NBA picks tonight.
