Today in the NBA we are going to back a couple home underdogs ATS with the Orlando Magic & the Sacramento Kings. Good value getting some points for these teams as they take on the Wizards & Clippers.

NBA Odds
NBA odds makers have come out with Orlando as a +4 underdog and that is where it is across the board.  You can still get pretty good odds right now like at BetOnline +4 (-105).  The Kings are around a +5 underdog, but you can get odds with them at Heritage +5.5 (-105).  For two of my NBA picks today I like the points with Orlando and Sacramento in their openers.

Orlando Magic +4
Getting Scott Skiles as the head coach is a step in the right direction for this Magic team.  Last year the Magic averaged 95.7 points per game, 49.2 rebounds per game, and shot 45.3% from the floor.  Their offense was fine for the most part, but defensively yikes.  This where I think Skiles will come in and set the tone to get this talented young team heading towards the playoffs by next year.  I believe they will need to grow a bit as a team and they probably could use another solid guy on the wing.  Nikola Vucevic is a stud and should continue to be the go to guy, but Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo will have to step up their game for this team to make some noise.  Aaron Gordan will have to play bigger role as well.  Look for Tobias Harris and Vucevic to lead the way as this team continues to mature.  Although I think they are a year away from the playoffs, don't be surprised if they pull off more than a few solid upsets in the East.

NBA Pick: Orlando Magic +4 (-105) at 5Dimes

Sacramento Kings +5.5
Like the Magic and Skiles the Kings have a nice upgrade with George Karl.  I really thought they should have had a better season with the talent they had last year, and Darren Collison getting hurt didn't help things.  Last year they averaged 101.3 points per game, 54.1 rebounds per game, and shot 45.5% from the floor.  Defensively they were a mess last year and ranked towards the bottom of the league in points allowed and opponent shooting percentage.  I expect with Karl those numbers should improve and I think they have the talent to make a bit of noise this year in the West... but only a bit.  Tonight I think we have them in a nice spot against a Clippers team that will be very good, but a team the Kings actually match up with decently.  This where I could type the name DeMarcus Cousins a few times as he is becoming one of the top 10 players in the league.  Marco Belinelli is a good off the bench addition and they have a decent lineup of veterans with Rudy Gay, Rajon Rondo, and Ben McLemore.  Don't expect the Kings to just let the Clippers come in and beat them down this first game of the year.  I probably won't be able to say the same thing in March.

NBA Pick: Sacramento Kings +5.5 (-105) at Pinnacle

Two live dogs tonight in the NBA in my opinion.  I like the Magic to hang with Washington and possibly pull off the upset and the veteran Kings to play hard against the Clippers.  For a couple of your NBA picks I recommend these two teams to stay within the number.
