The Golden State Warriors have Stephen Curry back, and they're hoping he'll ignite a stagnant offensive attack when the Warriors host the Detroit Pistons Tuesday night.

Can the Golden Staters not just win Tuesday, but cover an almost double-digit spread? Or can the visiting underdog Pistons at least keep this one close?

Pistons-Warriors Betting Line

As of Tuesday morning most NBA betting odds were chalking Golden State at -9, with a total proffered at 201.

Bettors who think Detroit has a chance to win this game straight-up could get the Pistons at around +370 on the various NBA betting money-lines.

Pistons-Warriors Game Set-Up

Golden State, after going 47-35 last season, is off to a 4-3 start to this season. The Warriors won four of their first five games, averaging 111 points per game.

But go-to-guy Stephen Curry hurt his foot in a win over Minnesota last week, forcing him to miss some time. Without its sharpshooting guard Golden State shot just 41 percent from the floor in losing at San Antonio Friday night 76-74. Then Saturday, even with Curry back, the Warriors stayed cold, shooting just 42 percent from the field in a 108-90 loss at Memphis.

Detroit, after going 29-53 last season, is off to a 2-4 beginning to this season. The Pistons won two of their first three games, and the only loss in that span came in overtime at Memphis. But Detroit has lost its last three games, to the Pacers, Thunder and Blazers, allowing an average of 109 PPG over that span.

Most recently Detroit fell at Portland Monday night 109-103, allowing the Blazers to shoot 51 percent from the floor and missing out on the cover as four-point dogs.

Pistons-Warriors Recent History

Golden State has won the last four games in this series, but the largest margin of victory has been just eight points. Last season the Warriors won in Detroit 104-97, then beat the Pistons 105-97 in Oakland. Golden State shot 51 percent from the floor in those two games combined, while Detroit shot 45 percent.

Pistons-Warriors Betting Trends

The last three meetings in this series have played OVER on the totals.

Detroit is 3-3 ATS this season, 1-1 ATS on the road.

Golden State is 4-2-1 ATS this season, 1-0-1 ATS at home.

The Pistons are 5-1 on the OVER/UNDERS this season, as their games have averaged 205 total points.

The Warriors are 3-4 on the totals, as their games have averaged 199 points.

Our Take on Tuesday's Game

This game is a contrast in styles; so far Detroit has been one of the better teams in the league scoring on the inside, while Golden State likes to shoot the threes. The Pistons may own an edge on the boards, but Curry owns an advantage going against Detroit's guards. To be honest, that nine-point spread looks about right on the money. So instead of going with a side for our free NBA pick on this game, we'll figure the Warriors will shoot a little better than they have the last couple of times out, and go with the OVER.

Pick: Take the OVER 201.5 offered at 5Dimes.
