It is never easy playing the second game on a back to back against a team on rest. That is the NBA betting scenario we have when the Los Angeles Clippers visit the Phoenix Suns.

NBA Odds
NBA Odds makers have Phoenix getting +2.5 tonight and I think that is good value on a decent team with two solid guards. The line has settled at this number but you can still get good odds like at Heritage Sports plus the points -105. For one of my NBA picks today I will back the Suns plus the points to take this game to the wire or pull off the upset.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2882586, "sportsbooksIds":[93,1096,19,92,238,349], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers average 105.4 points per game, shoot 47.3% from the field, and 27.4% from beyond the arc. They have been doing most of their damage in the paint and shoot 54.9% in two point field goals which ranks first in the NBA. They are coming off a pretty tough loss in Dallas and it will be a short turnaround to get back up against a Suns team that likes to run.

Defensively the Clippers allow 101.4 points per game, 41.7% shooting from the field, and 30.2% from beyond the arc. For the most part they have been solid on this end of the floor but they do allow their opponents to put up shots at a pretty high rate of 91.6 per game which ranks 29th defensively in the NBA. This stat could be troublesome off a back to back against a Phoenix team with good perimeter play.

Phoenix Suns
The Suns are averaging 102.1 points per game, shooting 42.8% from the field, and 35.3% from beyond the arc. Head coach Jeff Hornacek has does a nice job keeping the uptempo aspect of the Suns going and they rely a lot on their guards Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight. They have been decent in pushing pace and shooting the three ranking 7th in the league in field goal attempts per game, an 10th in three point percentage. Tonight they should catch a Clippers team that just had a tough, emotional game in Dallas just last night, perhaps a bit off their game.

Defensively the Suns are allowing 102.3 opponent points per game, 46.2% from the field, and 34.5% from beyond the arc. They are not a very strong defensive team and rank mostly in the middle of the league in most defensive categories. What they have done decently well though is limiting ball movement just allowing 21 assists per game average. Like on offense though I think they will be the benefactors of a Clippers team that might come in a little lack in intensity.

Numbers wise I think the odds makers have this about right making the Clippers a small favorite. On top of the fact that they are not an easy team to go against, period. For one of your NBA Picks I recommend doing taking the Suns in this spot though against a bit weary Clippers teams to take this game to the wire or just flat out pull off the upset.

NBA Pick: Phoenix +2.5 at Heritage
