What happened to the UNDER being the sharp basketball pick for the playoffs? Austin Rivers and the L.A. Clippers happened, that's what. Will sanity be restored on Tuesday?

Jason’s record as of May 11: 75-77-5 ATS, 13-18 Totals, plus-0.15 units ML, 6-2 Series (plus-4.0 units)

Ah, the sounds of spring. The birds are chirping, the snowplows are humming, there's rioting in the streets – and if you listen closely, you can hear the faint sound of leather meeting metal as it echoes across the lone prairie. That's if you can make it out from under the din of all those tendons and ligaments popping. Just another day in NBA paradise.

Time to turn that frown upside-down. We've got two piping-hot NBA picks for you against the total on the NBA odds for Tuesday, and if the games keep going the way they are, we might hear the sound of cash registers ringing instead. Do cash registers ring anymore? Does anyone even use cash? Better get straight to the basketball picks before I start waxing poetic about how good Saturday Night Live used to be. You know, during the Ford Administration.

Chicago vs. Cleveland (7:00 p.m. ET, TNT)
The tendons and ligaments in question are mostly from this series. Pau Gasol (22.7 PER) started having issues with his left hamstring in Game 3, and ended up missing Game 4 on Sunday. It looks like Gasol might have to sit out Game 5 as well after not practicing on Monday. In his absence, the Bulls lost 86-84 on Sunday, easily sliding UNDER the posted total of 194 points. We'd instantly make that play again if Gasol doesn't participate in Tuesday's shoot-around.

Then you have LeBron James (25.9 PER) and his left ankle, which he rolled during Game 4 on Sunday. He didn't miss any action and almost certainly will play in Game 5, but still. Also, Kyrie Irving (21.5 PER) has been diagnosed with tendinitis in his left knee, to go along with his strained right foot. Don't forget about Iman Shumpert (11.1 PER) and his tender groin, either. The Cavaliers are being held together by dental floss and duct tape at this point.

This snap-crackle-pop should be beautiful music to the ears of Chicago fans. The Bulls didn't have quite the same defensive presence this year, partly because of the return of Derrick Rose (15.9 PER, minus-2.3 DBPM), but they're the top defensive team in the 2015 playoffs at 95.2 points allowed per 100 possessions. Cleveland's defense has also improved to third overall at 99.2 points allowed. Put them together, take Gasol (plus-2.1 DBPM) out, hobble James and Irving, and presto. Another tight, low-scoring affair.

L.A. Clippers vs. Houston (9:30 p.m. ET, TNT)
And now the sound of bricks being laid. Ironically enough, that's the sound of the OVER waiting to cash in. Every time the Rockets put DeAndre Jordan (21.0 PER) on the free-throw line, or the Clippers do the same to Dwight Howard (19.2 PER) and the other Houston centers, they stop the clock in the process. That means tons of extra possessions for both teams. Game 4 of this series on Sunday had a Pace Factor of 103.9, compared to 89.6 in the Cavs-Bulls matchup.

Meanwhile, Austin Rivers (10.6 PER) is threatening to turn into the MVP of the playoffs. Okay, maybe not, but Rivers has scored 18.3 points per 36 minutes, up from 13.2 points during the regular season. He's also jacked up his 3-point accuracy from 29.8 to 48.0 percent. Is this real life? It helps that Patrick Beverley (11.3 PER, plus-0.3 BPM) isn't out there playing defense for Houston, but c'mon.

Add up all those freebies and threes, and the OVER is a perfect 4-0 in this series. Can you imagine what'll happen if the Clippers keep running up the score like this and actually win the championship? The Lakers will be old news, like VHS and DVD. You remember those, right? Anyone?
