The Indiana Pacers look to make it 4 consecutive wins as they battle it out with the New York Knicks for the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference. In their way, is a Phoenix Suns team that can’t get out of their own way.

This one could get ugly as the home town Suns fans watch their team overmatched. Let's look at how the NBA odds correspond with this match-up.

Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 pm ET, tonight at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona. This game can be seen on NBA TV.

Dragic’s Status is “Up in the air”

Odds haven’t been released due to the hip bruise injury of Phoenix’s leading scorer, Goran Dragic.

Regardless if Dragic plays or not, Indiana will be a considerable favorite in this game. They’re coming off of a 103-78 beating of the Dallas Mavericks while the Suns defense was unable to stop the Sacramento Kings en route to a 117-103 loss.

Phoenix has lost 5 straight games and 9 out of their last 10; this one could be over by the 3rd quarter and could get ugly!

The Enigma That is Hibbert

Roy Hibbert has had a fairly good career thus far, but had gotten off to a very slow start this season  with the emergence of Paul George.

Lately, Hibbert has been tearing it up and has been playing like the old Roy Hibbert. In his last 5 games, he’s averaging 18 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game. Hibbert is enormous in stature. Luis Scola has found his game offensively, but there’s absolutely nobody on the Suns roster that can guard this guy. Look for a big game from Big Roy.

Rated “PG”

Paul George is “kid appropriate” and fun for the entire family to watch. His numbers have slipped a bit due to the re-emergence of Roy Hibbert. I’m sure he doesn’t mind. The only way that a team can be a contender in the NBA is with a good big man. George has carried the offensive load all season and is coming off of a 24 point, 8 rebound , and 6 assist performance in the victory over Dallas. Look for a big game out of Paul George. Phoenix’s defense ranks 22nd in the league and Indiana should have their way.

Marshall’s the Man

If Goran Dragic is unable to give it a go, former North Carolina Tarheel, Kendall Marshall, will start in his place. In his last 2 games, Marshall has proven that he belongs in the NBA and is quite the ball distributor. Marshall is averaging 8.5 points and 11 assists in his last 2 games. He offers something that Dragic doesn’t; the ability to get others involved and not focus solely on offense.

Playing Like a Rocket

There was a time when Luis Scola was putting up huge numbers when he played for Houston. He’s still a fierce competitor, but this has been a down year for the Spaniard. Since the loss of Dragic, Scola has had free reign to display his offense. In his last 2 games, Scola is averaging 22.5 points and 7 rebounds. It’s a sad state of affairs when one player plays better when the other one is out, but in Scola’s case, a game without Dragic means a big performance for him and that’s what you’ll see tonight.

With or without Goran Dragic, Phoenix has no chance in this game. They have a soft defense and a bunch of players who haven’t had the time to gel together while the Indiana Pacers are playing their best basketball and Roy Hibbert is playing like a superstar. Take the Pacers for this NBA Pick.
