In the 2nd half of their home at home with the Indiana Pacers, the question is “will the Detroit Pistons want to show up at the arena?” Indiana is coming off of a 114-82 beating of Detroit on Friday.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm ET on Saturday at the Palace at Auburn Hills in Detroit, Michigan.

5 Dimes Sportsbook lists the Pacers as a 4 point betting favorite and the total for the game is 188.5

These NBA odds lines are laughable. Indiana was leading in last night’s game versus Detroit by over 40 points at one point. The Pacers are one of the biggest up and coming teams in the NBA and what’s to stop them here?

When one word comes to mind of the clash between Indiana and Detroit on Friday, embarrassing sums it up. The Pistons had their starters out of the game before the 4th quarter even started. If that’s not putting up the red flag, I don’t know what is.

The Detroit bench outscored their starters 55-27 as Greg Monroe and company were unable to muster up any offensive attack at all. All Pistons starters shot below 50% from the field and Will Bynum led the way off the bench with 17 points. Can Detroit regroup in front of their home town fans? Another beating like this could set the tone for an extensive losing streak.

Indiana’s bench got a lot of work in also, but all starters scored in double figures and were led by David West with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Superstar, Paul George, contributed, but was able to rest for most of the 2nd half and this will keep him fresh for tonight’s game.

Check out our NBA Picks of the Day, here.

George and George

Indiana will be looking for the combination of George Hill to Paul George as they face Detroit.

Point guard, George Hill, isn’t flashy like Tony Parker, but he gives the Pacers the complimentary play in which it takes to win with stars like David West and Paul George on the team. Hill is averaging 14.6 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds per game. He’s coming off of an efficient performance against Detroit before the starters were lifted last night. Expect Hill to see more “PT” tonight and provide more of the same support.

Paul George has been an emerging superstar all season. The Pacers didn’t really need his services last night, but expect to see a lot from the 2nd year forward in this game. In the two games prior to the blowout of Detroit, George averaged 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 7.5 assists. One of these games was a 34 point thrashing of the New York Knicks. Indiana has really started to create waves and Detroit is no match for this team.

Greg Monroe

In order for the Pistons to be competitive, center, Greg Monroe, must pick up the pieces and put forth a better effort. This is a player that’s capable of going “20-10” on any team in the NBA; now is the time for Monroe.

I would want to provide you with trends for this game, but after last night’s poor showing, Detroit has given me no reason to do so. I don’t expect as big of a blowout due to the venue, but look for Indiana to cover the point spread against a team that they overmatch for this NBA pick.
