Coming off the dreaded back-to-back-to-back, will the Pacers have enough to cover the spread against Philadelphia, or will the Sixers be too much for Indiana on their third game in three nights?

I’m having flashbacks to last season with this game, as the Pacers some how pissed off David Stern enough to get a third game in as many nights this season. After they played Sunday and Monday at home against Chicago and Atlanta, the Pacers head out on the road to play the Sixers tonight.

One would think the Pacers are an automatic fade in this game, but I’m not convinced. Last season in these situations, road teams were really overcompensated for, and I think that is happening again here. The NBA odds makers want you to lay the three points with Philadelphia. Road teams were 24-8 ATS before 2012 when playing on the road in their third game in three nights. Plus, the Sixers will be without Thaddeus Young with a hamstring injury.

I know it’s tough to recommend the spread here on either side, so I have decided to focus my picks on the total instead.

I’m siding with the Over tonight, and even though these two are solid defensive teams, playing three games in three nights affects defense. The over was 39-27-1 before last season when one of the teams was playing three times in three days.

The Pacers will be tired, but they are still the better team. They dropped 114 points last night against a good defensive Hawks team, and let them score over 100. Indiana will be tired enough to let the 76ers score, and Philadelphia’s defense isn’t great anyway; giving the big guys for Indiana a big advantage. Make some money tonight by adding the 'Over' to your NBA picks.

The Sharp Pick: OVER 181
