The Denver Nuggets can win because…
The Nets are not only struggling but they’re banged up. Deron Williams is already out and now the team has to live without Paul Pierce for two-to-four weeks (fractured hand). Brook Lopez returned to the lineup on Friday from his bruised ankle but he was on a minute-cap at 24.
As for the Nuggets, they are on a roll right now. They’ve won six straight and three of those wins were on the road. They should be able to handle a Nets team that’s just 2-4 at home this season. Add them to your NBA picks.
The Brooklyn Nets can win because…
They’re starting to play a little bit better. They’ve won two of their last four games and have the services of Brook Lopez back in the lineup. He’s a key cog on this team as the Nets went 1-6 without him in the lineup. That means they’re 4-6 with him, which means they’ve got a far better chance to win when he’s healthy.
The Nets have been a mess so far this season but keep in mind that this team has a lot of moving parts. Not only did they make a ton of offseason changes, they also haven’t been healthy enough to play together. They’ll get better as the season goes and two wins in their last four is indication of that.
Outlook & Pick
The Nets are not a good team right now, but I’m not sure they deserve to be such big home dogs. Denver is hot right now but a couple of weeks ago, they were 4-6. They are just 4-4 on the road and that’s after winning each of their last three away games.
I’m inclined to take a shot with the Nets on the NBA odds. A healthy Lopez should make them competitive in this one, so I’ll add them to my sports picks.
