Both teams have stepped it up as of late, but we're not sold on an ATS pick for tonight's battle between Toronto and Brooklyn. Find out why inside.

Odds Overview

In spite of the Nets' winning streak, they're still getting as many as 9.5 points from oddsmakers for this road game in Toronto. This season the Raptors are 17-17 SU and 20-14 ATS and the Nets are 15-21 SU and 17-19 ATS.

If you want to make a play on the total, the O/U can be locked down at either 192.5 or 193.

Brooklyn Nets

We're finally starting to see the potential come to fruition for the Nets. They've won five straight games straight up and have covered for backers in all five of the victories.

It's not like these wins are coming against weak opposition either.

The streak started on the road in Oklahoma City, which clearly gave Brooklyn a ton of confidence. They've since overcome Cleveland, Atlanta, Golden State and even Miami, with the win over the defending champions coming last night.

Granted they needed double overtime and the Heat were without the likes of Dwyane Wade, Mario Chalmers and Shane Battier, but it was still a good win for the experienced Nets.

Joe Johnson started off hot and kept it up throughout. He finished with 32 points and added five assists and four rebounds. Paul Pierce had a 23/5/3 line, while Shaun Livingston scored 19 points with 11 boards, five dimes and three blocks in the victory. Livingston has done a fantastic job in filling in for the injured Deron Williams and will pick up another start tonight.

Toronto Raptors

If you've been consistently selecting the Raptors with your ATS picks, you've been making a lot of money.

They're on a splendid run in that regard, having cashed in nine straight games. During that span they've gone 7-2 straight up, which was highlighted by a 95-82 triumph over Paul George and the Pacers.

We last saw the Raptors in action on Wednesday, as they sent Detroit packing in a comfortable 112-91 home win.

It wasn't so easy in the first half, as Toronto went into halftime down four. However, the Raptors outscored the Pistons 62-37 after the interval, thanks to some big-time performances from the starting five.

Kyle Lowry had 21 points, nine assists and five boards, DeMar DeRozan had 19 points, six rebounds and four assists and both Amir Johnson and Jonas Valanciunas had double-doubles. Terrence Ross hit five threes in the win.

NBA Pick

Like the Denver/Orlando game, we feel more comfortable in a total pick tonight. It's a little strange to see the Raptors favored by so many points, but they do catch a Brooklyn team that will playing their third game in four nights. The Nets have also gone just 1-5 SU (3-3 ATS) in the second games of back-to-backs this season.

So, rather than venturing towards a side on the spread, let's go with the UNDER for our NBA picks.

Defensive efficiency has been instrumental to Toronto's success this season – they rank sixth in the NBA, allowing 99.9 points per 100 possessions. Brooklyn is a lot further down on that list, but they've stepped up their game recently, having surrendered just 90.8 PPG over their past five contests.

We expect more of a defensive battle than anything else tonight, so the UNDER will be our recommendation in the Air Canada Centre.

NBA Pick: UNDER 193
