The Brooklyn Nets head on the road this evening into Dallas where they are set to face an improved Mavs team. Where should bettors look to place their NBA picks in this matchup?

The NBA Odds for this one favor the home Mavs at -3 ½, with a total of 198 points. Dallas has been hot recently, so will they have enough to shut done Brooklyn tonight, or will the Nets come in and get a much-needed win and/or cover?

I don’t think that the Nets will find a way to keep it within the short number. The Mavs have won six of their last seven games against the Nets SU and seven of their last ten as well. The Nets cannot score on the road this season to save their lives. For a playoff team, averaging only around 93 ppg on the road is not going to cut it in the playoffs, and I don’t think it will cut it here. Just as an example, the Nets are 19-12 cashing the under on the road this season, and it normally deals with their inability to score.

With that being said, I live the Mavs here laying the points. Dallas has won seven of their last ten games overall SU, and they are 4-1 ATS in their last five games. Dallas is 17-14 ATS this season at home and with Dirk Nowitzki playing like he has been, I think the Mavs are the smart choice for our NBA picks tonight.

The Nets are only 10-14 SU this season against the Western Conference, while the Mavs are not only good against the East SU, but they cover as well. In 26 games against the East this season, the Mavs are 15-11 ATS, making the Mavs laying points tonight the way to go.

My NBA Pick: Mavs -3 ½
