After both tams had to play last night and travel afterwards, who will be up and ready for this game better than their opponent?

NBA Picks: Nets vs. Hawks

The Hawks come into this game one night after not covering against the Celtics on the road last night, while the Nets are coming off a much easier batter between them and the Wizards.

The NBA Odds for this one favor the Hawks by -3, with an over/under of 188. Will Brooklyn have enough to slow down the Hawks’ big men and vice versa, will the Hawks be able to stop Deron Williams and company?

Stretch Run Blues

For non-playoff teams, this stretch of the season is particularly hard. You aren’t winning, you aren’t playing in the postseason, and you’re tired as hell. While both the Nets and Hawks are playoff teams this season in the East, that doesn’t mean with 60 games down and 20 to go that both of these teams aren’t tired and worn down.

Plus the fact that both of these teams had to travel last night after their respective games makes this game prime for another over bet here this evening. Atlanta has cashed the over in 18 of their 29 home games this season and between these two teams, the total has gone over in three of the last five times they have faced.

While there are few emerging trends for us between these two, these two have played two this season, splitting the series both ATS and O/U. However the time they played in Atlanta this season, the game ended in a 109-95 game. On top of that, in their last ten games against one another, the average score between them was 101-93, which would easily eclipse the total for tonight.

Our NBA Picks of the Day ruin your bookies evening!

Atlanta slipping, Brooklyn climbing

The playoff spots 4-7 in the East are now the closes they have been since the beginning of the season. The Nets currently sit in the 4th position, but they only have a game lead on the Bulls right now, and only 1 ½ games up on the Hawks who are all the way down in the 7th seed right now. Things could be flipping around until the end of the season, making this game that much more important, as it is one of the last time these two will face one another in the regular season.

Atlanta has dominated them SU recently, and if it weren’t for the Nets' win against the Hawks back in January, we would be talking about how the Hawks have owned the Nets SU. Up until that game, the Hawks had won their last six against the Nets. Plus, Atlanta has won their last five home games against the Nets. Obviously they were very different teams, but the trend still stands.

The Sharp Pick

Once again for you NBA picks, I think it would be wise to lay off the spread and side with the total on this game. With both teams coming off the back to back, and with them likely tired, I like a value pick on the over this evening.

Even though it’s up a half point to 188 from where it started, I think these two teams can surpass that tonight. Atlanta is averaging over 100 points per game scored at home this season, and while Brooklyn isn’t much of a road scoring team, even if they simply hit their average road scoring tonight, the total will safely go over. Plus, in their last four road games, the Nets have scored 95 or more three of those four games. I’m on the over tonight.
