Chicago is having some more injury concerns, and the NBA Odds favor them slightly at home in this one at -1 ½, with a total of 184. With injuries mounting on both sides, who will win this must win Game 6 for both teams?
It has to be mentioned upfront that the Bulls’ Kirk Hinrich is listed as doubtful for Game 6, after missing Game 5 with a deep calf bruise. Nate Robinson played well scoring 20 points, dishing out 8 assists and only committing three turnovers, but the Bulls did not have enough to beat the Nets in Brooklyn for a 2nd time this series. They will have to get it done at home, where they have won four in a row SU against the Nets.
The Nets aren’t without injury of their own, as it was made known that Joe Johnson has been dealing with plantar fasciitis, however he is fully expected the play as may minutes as he can in Game 6. The Nets have their work cut out for them. Brooklyn has lost their last four in Chicago and they are 1-8 SU in their last nine trips there. However, Hinrich didn’t play in Game 5 and the Nets steamrolled the Bulls. Plus, Chicago was a below .500 team without Hinrich in the regular season. If there ever was an opportunity to get a win for the Nets, it’s tonight.
The NBA Odds are fair, but I think we have to look at the Bulls or nothing in this game for our NBA Picks. The totals have been outrageously unpredictable in this series, but the Bulls have played well against the Nets this season and in the playoffs. I think for one time the Bulls can get over the hump and move on to face, and eventually get beat by the Miami Heat. Brooklyn is showing some signs of wearing down, where the Bulls are toughening up. I also think Hinrich is going to try and play. If he does, and he is effective, Chicago is moving on to the next round. I’m making a small value play on Chicago and adding it to my sports picks.
My Pick: Bulls -115
