After losing last night on the road to Orlando, will Philadelphia have enough after having to play last night and travel?
The Sixers’ defense fell apart last night in Orlando. After the game was close throughout most of the first three quarters, the Magic outscored the Sixers 26-19 in the 4th quarter to take the game 99-91.
Philadelphia has been in an incredible offensive slump recently, and playing on the second night of a back-to-back will almost certainly hurt their defense. The Sixers haven’t been playing much defense over the second half of the season. Their points allowed per game is all the way up to 96.
In their recent history against one another, Brooklyn has taken care of business. They have split the board ATS this season, but in their last 18 games against eachother in Philadelphia, the Nets are 13-4-1 ATS.
When it comes to placing our sports picks tonight, however, I’m shying away from the trends, and going with the logic. A night after giving up almost 100 points to probably the worst team in the NBA, I don’t think Philadelphia’s defense is going to look any better her, and that is why I’m siding with the Over in this one.
Four of the last five Philadelphia home games have gone Over the posted total, and Philadelphia is an incredible 21-12 this season cashing the Over at home. The fact that NBA odds makers are offering us this game at a low 183.5 only helps our cause.
Three of the last five times these two have played one another, the total has gone Over, including the last time they played in Philadelphia back in January. With the smaller total this evening, I believe that a play on this game’s total holds the best betting value. I think the Sixers will play little to no defense tonight, as eight of their 14 games against their division this season have gone Over, and this will be the case tonight as well.
My Pick: OVER 183.5
