Never chase a bad team, right?  Well, the Lakers are above .500 and last time I checked, that ain't bad.

NBA Picks: Thursday Night

Thursday night features a triple-header of NBA action as the Lakers travel to Milwaukee, the Pacers visit Dallas and the Suns host the Kings in your NBA betting odds this evening.

Swinging Johnson - NBA Record (12-16, -18.2 units)

*Games assigned 1 to 5 units.

Update:

I liked the Bulls last night.  I really did and thought they could give the Heat a run for their money as they always seem to do.  But there was no line on the game when I wrote the article and I found only a total.  I liked the Under.  I didn't like the result.  "The Streak" got snapped last night as the Bulls once again turned Jordanesque whenever they play the Dream Team.  As for me and those dwindling members of Swinger's faithful disciples, we flamed the total and lost three units.

LA Lakers (37-35 SU, 29-43 ATS) vs. Milwaukee Bucks (34-36 SU, 30-39-1 ATS)

The Lakers have destroyed guys like me who jumped out ahead of the curve knowing they were better than the miserable record they posted earlier in the season.  Ah yes, but the oddsmakers knew that too and had an inkling there'd be other "sharps" like me.  I've been about as sharp as a sponge lately and the Lakers have much to do with that.   The Bucks are in an epic freefall, a shame spiral if you will.  Screw it, may I have another kick in the balls Kobe?  Sign me up.

Play the Lakers -1 (-120 buying ½ a point) for 2 units at Pinnacle in your NBA picks.

Indiana Pacers (45-27 SU, 40-32 ATS) vs. Dallas Mavericks (35-36 SU, 41-29-1 ATS)

I'm conflicted here because the Pacers throttled Dallas last time they met,103-83,  but are playing the second of back-to-back games after dispatching the Rockets 100-91 as six point underdogs.  Pacers are a serious threat in the Eastern Conference while the Mavs are seriously threatening not to make the playoffs.

What the hell do we do here?  We pass and instead focus on how prolifically these teams have scored recently.  The Pacers have scored north of 100 points in their last two games while the Mavs have done it in their last three.  Pacers have a terrific defense no doubt but those legs will be weary tonight so I see plenty of opportunities for the Mavs to put the rock in the hole.

Play Over the NBA betting odds of 192 for 3 units at Bookmaker for this game.

Sacramento Kings (26-46 SU, 32-38-2 ATS) vs. Phoenix Suns (23-49 SU, 27-43-2 ATS)

Is there anyway both of these putrid teams could lose?  Must we hold our collective noses and pick one?  Yes, we must because there's money to be made on the right side.  Well, let's look at what happened in their last matchup as the Kings came away with a 121-112 victory over the fumbling, bumbling Suns.

They say don't look at the sun or it will burn your eyes out (as my mother used to say).  I will revise that and say don't bet the Suns or they will burn a hole in your wallet.  While I'm not thrilled with backing the Kings here, I will say they are the better of two evils in this one.

Play Sacramento -2 for 1 unit at Bovada.com in your NBA picks tonight.
