We have a rather slow Monday in the NBA, as Wednesdays and Fridays will start becoming a lot busier. However there is still some value to be had on tonight’s games, and I have three NBA picks that I am adding to my evening’s betting ticket.
Hawks vs. Pacers
Atlanta played yesterday in Milwaukee, as they were able to earn a solid win on the road. However, now they have to travel into Indiana to play the Pacers tonight on short rest. The NBA Odds for this one favor the Pacers at -7 ½ with a total of 188.
Having looked over the lines for value, I’m siding with the total in this one for a few reasons. The Hawks cash the under well on the road at 19-15-1 this season, and going into Indiana, a place where teams are only scoring about 88 points per game, I think the under is the play here.
With no rest this season, the Hawks are cashing the under on that second night at 12-5-1 this season, and I think they will do it again against Indiana here tonight.
My Free Pick: UNDER 188
Grizzlies vs. Wizards
Memphis is going to be without their star center Marc Gasol for a little while, and while he is out, I think their league leading defense is going to suffer, especially on the road. Memphis is a -2 favorite tonight in DC with a total of 182.
I’m siding not with the game total, but the Wizards’ team total instead that should be sitting right at 90 points for this one. I love the over tonight without Gasol in the lineup. The Grizzlies’ defense gives up almost 93 points per game on the road to begin with, and the Wizards are not that bad at home as they are on the road. Washington averaged over 97 points per game this season at home, and in their last ten meetings with Memphis; they have averaged 98 points per game.
The Wizards have scored at least 100 points in three of their last five games and with no Gasol tonight, I like the Wizards to make this a higher scoring affair on their side.
My Free Pick: Wizards TT OVER 90
Sixers vs. Jazz
For the last of my free picks on the evening is the Jazz playing host to the Sixers. The NBA Odds favor the Jazz at -8 with a total of 191. The last four times these two have played the total has gone over, and I think they will make it five in a row after tonight.
Both the Sixers and Jazz have given up well over 100 points to their last three respective opponents, and while these two can struggle on offense, I doubt it happens here tonight.
Both teams played last night and with both teams being tired, I love the over in this one. The Jazz should dominate down low, while Jrue Holiday and the more athletic Sixers should score easily as well. 191 is great value for tonight.
My Free Pick: OVER 191
