Where do our NBA handicappers believe that the best value lies, and how do we plan on cashing in?

We took a beating on Friday, but the weekend has given me some time to adjust, and even after our slow last few weeks, we are still making money ATS on the season. With that being said, I have two NBA Picks for you today on two totals.

Hornets vs. Pistons

The Pistons come into this game as -4 favorites in the NBA Odds, and the total is sitting at 197 points. The Hornets got blasted in Toronto yesterday 102-89, so on the second leg of a back to back, and approaching the All Star Break, the young Hornets might be starting to feel the wear and tear.

The Pistons have been scoring the ball much better over the last few days with Jose Calderon leading the charge at point. Detroit has scored over 100 points in their last two games, and they’ve also given up over 100 in those two as well.

With the Hornets likely tired, and the Pistons clicking with their new offense, I like the Over in this one. Three of the last four games between these two have gone over the total, and while Detroit only scores a bit more at home as opposed to overall, the Hornets score much better on the road this season. New Orleans only averages 93 ppg on the season, but nearly 97 per game on the road. Take the over, I expect 200s for this game.

My Pick: OVER 197

Wizards vs. Bucks

For the second of my free sports picks, we head to Milwaukee, where the Wizards face the Bucks. Much like the above game, the home Bucks are favored by -4, with a total of 197. No this isn’t déjà vu, especially because in this game, I’m leaning on the Under.

The Wizards have been utilizing their defense this season as their main weapon. Washington is 7th in the NBA in points allowed, but on the road, while their defense comes along, their offense misses the flights. The Wizards are only averaging 86 points per game on the road this season. In their last four road games, it’s been worse, as they have averaged only 83 points in their last four games outside of the District.

The Bucks on the other hand are good on offense, but the Wizards’ defense should slow them down enough to cash the under. Earlier this season these two cashed the under in Washington, and seven of their last ten meetings have gone Under.

My Pick: UNDER 197
