The NBA odds boards for today are smaller with only six games on the schedule, however I think I have found a couple of nice plays this evening. Follow along as I release my two favorite NBA picks of the day.

Warriors vs. Bobcats

Golden State may be without their glue guy, Andre Iguodala for another game or two, but the Warriors have been playing pretty well recently. They head into Charlotte tonight for a matchup with the Cats, and the NBA odds have the Warriors as -5 ½ road favorites, with a total of 194 ½. I see the spread as a wash, however the total seems like a nice bargain value tonight.

Charlotte is improving their scoring with every game, and with Al Jefferson back, this team’s offense should improve all around. Surprisingly, they have been one of the better defensive teams in the NBA this season, however unlike most teams, Charlotte’s defense gets worse at home than on the road. It may have something to do with how much their scoring improves in Charlotte, however either way, it should make for a nice over bet tonight in the NBA odds.

Golden State is 7th in pace this season and 11th in offensive efficiency, and against the Cats, they should have another big offensive game. Last season, these two played to a score of 115-100 in Oakland, and I could see a game with almost as much scoring tonight. Three of the last four times these two teams have played, the total has gone over, and with the Warriors giving up over 100 points per game on the road, look for the Cats to get into the upper 90s tonight.

My Pick: ‘Over’ 194 ½

Mavericks vs. Kings

The Kings just pulled off a massive trade sending four players to Toronto for Rudy Gay. Although Gay and the players sent off will not be available tonight, I still think there is value in these NBA odds. The Mavs come in as -4 ½ road favorites tonight, but I am more focused on the total of 203 ½.

Without Greivis Vasquez, John Salmons and the other members of the trade, the bench players for Sacramento will either start, or play extended minutes this evening. With Mike Malone’s team on a short bench tonight, there is a greater chance of a high scoring game. More run for bench players almost always leads to less rest, less defense and higher scoring games.

Both teams are already giving up over 101 points per game this season, and in all five of their last meetings in Sacramento, the total has gone over. On top of that, the last six games overall between these two have gone over the total, as well as nine of their last ten meetings overall.

Look for the Mavs to be able to score at will tonight, and expect the Kings to see 100 points as well. The Mavs lack size down low, and that will likely lead to a huge game for DeMarcus Cousins. Take the over tonight in Sac-town.

My Pick: ‘Over’ 203 ½
