A battle between cellar dweller teams can still have value. In fact, most of the time, they have even more value than the marquee games of the evening. Which way are we looking with our NBA picks when the Cavaliers play host to the Magic?

Tonight, the banged up Magic head into Cleveland to play the Cavs, and I think I have uncovered some nice value for this one. Read on to find out which team we are backing with our NBA picks.

Orlando infirmary

Orlando is still without most of their backcourt, as JJ Reddick is still banged up, along with Aaron Afflalo. Glen Davis is of course out, and Hedo Turkoglu is out tonight as well due to illness. The NBA Odds for this one have the Cavs as -6 ½ favorites, something they haven’t seen too much of over the course of this season.

Orlando is 1-4 ATS in their last five games, as playing without their whole lineup has killed them this season. This is a team that looked like they could make a run at the final 8th seed in the Eastern Conference, but a 14-35 SU record, along with all their injuries has put a hold on that.

Cleveland favorites

I can’t remember the last time the Cavs were favored in any game, let alone by -6 ½. However, it is completely warranted tonight against one of the most banged up teams in the NBA. However, Cleveland’s cover is not a lock. The Cavs are only 8-13 ATS at home this season, while the Magic are a solid road team at 14-10 ATS on the road. Could this be another prime example of the books over juicing the Cavs at home, and undervaluing the Magic despite all their injuries on the road?

The Sharp Pick

I’m going to take a chance with this one and take the points with the Magic. Both Afflalo and Reddick are traveling with the team, which puts them as game time decisions in my book. Either way, the Cavs are 2-5 ATS this season as favorites, and even though they are at home, I’m siding with the Magic. I think the sportsbooks are under and overvaluing both teams tonight.

My Pick: Magic +6 ½
