Ross Benjamin has gone 4-1 during the last two betting days with his totals at SBRpicks.com. Go inside to find out what his top two NBA picks are in that regard for Wednesday’s Card.

Charlotte Hornets vs. New York Knicks 7:35 PM ET
These NBA Eastern Conference rivals have met three times this season, and each of those contests stayed under the total. There was a combined average of only 188.3 points scored per game, and Charlotte shot a very poor 39.3%. The Knicks weren’t much better offensively in those three encounters, averaging a paltry 93.0 points scored per outing.

Charlotte has been extremely good on the defensive end in recent games. During its last five outings, they’ve allowed an average of 95.0 points per game, and held their opponents to 41.1% shooting. Charlotte has seen eight of its previous twelve games go under the total.

New York has gone an incredible 17-2 under the total in their last nineteen games. As a matter of fact, they stayed under the number in each its previous six contests, and a combined 190.9 points were scored per outing. The Knicks have allowed less than 100 points in five of its last six, and also scored 94 points or less during nine of their previous twelve games.

This has all the earmarks of a lower scoring game, and one of my Wednesday NBA picks will adhere to that exact thought process.

LA Clippers vs. LA Lakers 10:35 PM ET
These teams met just last night, and the Clippers came away with an easy 103-81 win. All three games played between these NBA Pacific Division rivals this season have gone under the total, and there was a combined 186.7 points scored per contest. The Clippers have stifled their fellow Los Angeles team defensively during those three meetings, allowing only 86.0 points per game, and holding them to a paltry 38.7% shooting. As a matter of fact, the Lakers shot a miserable 31.3% in last night’s loss.

The Clippers have been outstanding defensively in their previous seven games. During that stretch, they’ve allowed just 94.6 points per game, and held their opponents to an extremely impressive 39.7% shooting. They’ve seen six of their previous eight games go under the total and also allowed 94 points or less in five of its last seven outings. According to current NBA odds at Matchbook.com, the Clippers are an 11.0 points favorite, and the posted total is 194.5. The Clippers have gone under the total in their last five games this season when installed as a favorite of 10.0 or more, allowing 88.2 points per contest, and holding opponents to 37.3% shooting.

The Lakers have seen all seven of their home games go under the total this season when facing a fellow Pacific Division team. Those contests stayed under the number by a substantial average of 20.6 points per game.
