When we look at the Warriors statistics this year taking the over seems like the only option but Memphis knows how to play them tough. Find inside the best side to play with tonight's NBA picks.

NBA Odds
Odds makers started off with this total at 199 but now across the board it has settled at 201. It makes sense for people to want to jump on the over, but Golden State is not playing New Orleans in this matchup. You can still get good odds like at Pinnacle Sports under the total of 201 at -105. For one of my NBA total picks of the day I'm going to back the under.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2882512, "sportsbooksIds":[93,1096,19,92,238,349], "LineTypeId":3, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

Memphis Grizzlies
Offensively the Grizzlies are averaging 96.3 points per game, shooting 42.6% from the field, and 32.7% from distance. They are pretty much the same team as they were last year and are simply a blue-collar team. On this side of the ball they have been fine, but what has been worrisome is their defense. Still, it is way too early in the season to be overly worried about where teams are statistic wise.

Defensively Memphis is allowing 100 points per game, 48.1% shooting from the field, and 38.9% shooting from distance. Like mentioned in the paragraph above, although these statistics are poor it is just too early in the season to have them hold any kind of weight. One good statistic that jumped out is how Memphis is trying to control tempo allowing only 80.3 shots per game which ranks fourth in the NBA.

<var>Check Memphis vs. Golden St. Props Betting Guide</var>

Golden State Warriors
Golden State is averaging 119 points per game, shooting 47.6% from the field, and 40.7% from beyond the arc. Steph Curry has already gone for 50 points twice this season and has been shooting out of his mind. Still, the way Memphis plays and the overall matchups suggest this game will be at a more controlled pace so don't look for Golden State to put up as many shots as they have averaged the season, 91, which ranks sixth in the NBA.

Defensively Golden State is allowing 102.3 points per game, 41.9% shooting from the field, and 30.2% shooting from beyond the arc. We look at this team offense immediately comes to mind, but what people soon forget is what a really good defensive team this team is. They were in the top part of the league last year and some of the most important offensive statistics. Look for a solid defensive effort from them tonight.

In the playoffs last year these teams met six times, and five of those times the final ended up under this total of 201. I can understand why it would be tempting to go ahead and take the over when we look at how Golden State has been lighting up the scoreboard, and Memphis has been so-so on that end as well. For one of your NBA Picks today though I suggest taking under this total and look for a game closer to a final combined total of around 190.

NBA Picks: Under 201 at Pinnacle
