NBA Picks: Knicks vs. Pacers Game 6
The NBA Odds for this crucial game for the Pacers favor the home team at -5 with a total of 179 ½. With the league wanting the Knicks to win and force a Game 7, will they actually be able to even with everyone except those 18,000 Pacers fans rooting against them?
The Knicks haven’t faired well in Indiana in 2012-2013 and this postseason. The Knicks are 0-5 SU in their last five trips to Indiana and are 1-4 ATS in that stretch. With these behind us, and seemingly nothing but the George Hill-concern stopping us, I like the Pacers tonight to cover the spread. I think the home game is just what they needed with Hill looking like a no go tonight with the concussion symptoms.
The Knicks are 2-3 ATS on the road in these playoffs and I think they once again stink it up enough to find a way to lose the game by a half dozen points. Carmelo Anthony cannot do it by himself and the Pacers have more than enough discipline to keep Anthony from beating them.
The Knicks’ bench has been bad on the road in this series as well, and even if Anthony comes up with 40 points tonight, the Knicks could still very easily lose with the way they have been playing. The Knicks’ bench scored a total of only 59 points in the two games played in Indiana in this series, and that number would be a hell of a lot worse if JR Smith hadn’t dropped 19 points on 22 shots in Game 4.
All in all, I like the Pacers chances tonight for our NBA picks. Even though David Stern wants them to lose, the basketball gods will help them.
