Both the Hawks and Knicks have been pretty terrible lately, but one of these teams will be the victor tonight. Who gets the nod with our NBA picks?
The Hawks are favored by 2.5 points at most NBA betting sites that we're scoping out. They have gone a solid 16-9 SU at home, but they've been really struggling lately and are now only 25-29 SU overall and 26-27-1 ATS. The Knicks check in at 21-34 SU and 23-32 ATS.

New York Knicks
The Knicks suffered through another disappointing loss last night, falling in double overtime (121-129) to the Magic.
Carmelo Anthony was practically a one-man show for New York. He hit 16-of-28 shots (6-of-10 from three) en route to 44 points and also chipped in with 11 rebounds and four assists.
Tyson Chandler, J.R. Smith, Raymond Felton, Amare Stoudemire and Tim Hardaway Jr. all scored in double figures, but it wasn't enough as New York once again struggled immensely on the defensive end. The Knicks were also killed in the paint, getting outscored 54-28 by Nikola Vucevic and company.
It was New York's fourth loss in five games and they're now just 2-7 SU over their previous nine contests overall. The Knicks are 4.5 games out of the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, meaning they can't afford to keep slipping up like this.
Ahead of tonight's tip, New York is 9-16 straight up on the road, though they've been much better (13-12) up against the number. Will backers be rewarded for taking a chance on the Knicks in the ATL this evening?
Things may be bad for the Knicks, but Mike Woodson's team has still been doing better than the Hawks, who have lost eight straight games.
Not too long ago Atlanta was in the third spot in the East, but now they're barely hanging on to the eighth seed.
Last night the Hawks lost 107-115 in Detroit, falling short of the cover as four-point underdogs in the NBA odds. With the likes of Al Horford, Pero Antic and Gustavo Ayon, Atlanta simply couldn't hang with Detroit's frontcourt – they were out-scored 66-34 in the paint.
Filling in for the injured Jeff Teague, Shelvin Mack started and had 21 points, six assists and four rebounds. Paul Millsap (23/8/4) had a good game as well, while Mike Scott and Lou Williams totaled 35 points between them off the bench.
It still wasn't enough to break this ever-growing losing run for Atlanta. The Hawks now return home, where they're a solid 15-10 against the spread this season. Will they finally get back on the winning side?
A tough call here.
It's hard to pick a side, taking all of the struggles that both teams have had into account. There's no way we can back the Hawks though, who haven't won for over two weeks and could again be without Teague.
So, let's take a chance on New York to get the win for our basketball picks. They're the far healthier team at this point and it certainly helps that they'll have the best player on the court in this matchup.
We certainly wouldn't blame you for staying away from this game completely, but in the end we think taking the points with a New York team up against a banged up Atlanta squad is the right way to go.
